After turning on the TV it turns back off about 2 or 3 seconds later. I have a reputable trechnician coming over today. This TV ia about 8 years old and has given no trouble before and was working perfectly before this.

When I turn on the tv, the green light comes on for about a second and than shuts itself off. I tried calling Mitsubishi and they had no suggestions.

I have the same problem! My kids were playing XBOX 360 and suddenly the TV shut off. They thought I had programmed the TV to shut off after a defined time period, to manage their game time - lol (Great Idea!!)

Can you please provide a solution, or do I have to buy a new set. Afterall, it is 8 years old.

    email the solution to thembears@msn.com

    Thanks,

I am having the same problem. When I ran for codes it beeped two times, twice, a 2-2 code? Is this the power supply? Anyone know what the part #s are. 507?

  • jtrelfa Dec 01, 2008

I'm a bit late on this- but can you send me the same doc? My kids were watching tv - they turned it off, now it won't turn on. If I unplug/replug in the TV, the power LED flashes three times then does nothing - i really hope this is a relatively cheap repair.

I have two problems, first is the tv had a loose heat sheild on the center circuit board causing the color bands to bend. After the tv warmed up it fixed it's self, but over time I had to tie string to it to keep the cold soldered joints connected. One day I was fixing my string and the tv flashed off.Now I have a second problem, the tv turns off 2 seconds after I turn it on,I think it is related to my other problem.Does any one know how to fix it?

    Please e-mail me at Dadsfavgrl@msn.com

I have a ws-65907, and it seems like it gets hot and turns off, If it has been off for a while, I can turn it on and it will stay on for 60 seconds or so and then turn off. if I try to turn it on again it will only stay on for 5 seconds and then it turns off.

any help would be great ... BenDake@gmail.com

    thanks

    Sweet_Rascal,

I have a Mitsubishi WS-65907 that turns on then turns off within 2 seconds. I had a repair man come over and he said it was a convergence board... I am not to sure on his claim or if he just wanted to get $$$ out of me. I ran across your posting about this document on how to fix it. Can you please e-mail it to me? Any help/assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    My e-mail address: stealth1980@yahoo.com

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike

I have a WS-65907 tv, it wont turn on

Mitsubishi self check: MOST OF THESE SETS HAVE A SELF DIAGNOSTIC:

UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ON FOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD "device"(input) and "menu" buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.

Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem

******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protect the Convergence IC or IC's is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergence IC and shut down.

SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES AND THEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.

IF IT IS 2 AND THEN 2---USUALLY
CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT PROBLEM

let me know what you find--hope that you find 2 blinks, a pause and two blinks--this is the most common and easiest to fix.
