Question about Dorel Alexander
I having problems putting together my daughters crib. I have the instructions but when i go to put on sliding side rail in will not lock in. I need help. I had three different adults help me and it wont budge.
Do not use this crib. This crib broke and caused my infant son of six months to get caught. He passed away on October 16th because of getting caught in this crib. I am trying to getting this crib recalled. Please Please do not use drop down cribs. They are entrappment devices for infants. 3 infants including my son have died in 2008 due to drop down side cribs. Please for your babies sake, take this crib back.

I was looking for a recall on this crib. We bought it new from Walmart in June 2006. We used it for a short time, and then put it in another room for storage. (We do foster care.) While it was stored, I noticed that the side-rail started slipping down on its own. You normally have to put your foot in the middle of the bottom rail of the side rail, to release it to lower it. It doesn't have any metal parts, only plastic. I see how dangerous it can be, and wouldn't give it away before looking for a recall. Lisa0924, if you need any support for your recall efforts, please let me know. I agree, DO NOT USE THIS CRIB!

I would try this...at the bottom of the drop side there should be a spring lever on both ends. It must go on the OUTSIDE of the crib following the rail. When you put that side on, it wants to go towards the inside. Just pull it out on both sides so that it follows the rail up on the bottom.
Hope that helps and is understandable.

Solution burn the crappy things i have called so many times since 06 its crazy they only fixed the prob once and also on my drop side on the bottom where the long wood piece holds the plastic pieces and the slats was coming off of my crib this happened 5 months after i bought the dang thing they replaced it then the parts got broke during shipping and had to be replaced again also had a wood knot hole on the head board the customer service guy said that my options where to buy the part or buy a new crib BS that knot caused a weak spot which to this day is starting to crack ...... So today when i called about the recall they told me that it will take 6-8 weeks to replace the bed and that i was to throw it away when my new parts came in ?? throw it away !!! WTH some one could take it out of the trash and use it or even sell it ... so i will burn mine and also take photos on the craftsman ship of this so great bed ...... **** bed that is .
