Hey Bubbabear....I've left it on before accidentallly but right now the battery indicator is showing plenty of juice at the moment.  I accidentally pulled the usb while trying to download last night..oops...eghhh...now..it just won't automatically download right onto my mac laptop like it usually did by just plugging it in.  Thanks for your help.  : )

    Hey B.B.:

The camera will just keep blinking in the green light (next to auto) on the top of the camera where the "on" is that color will be be "green" and then quickly go to "orange".  On my mac screen..the pics in my iphoto library will pop up on the screen while the round mac circle will keep spinning around for a few minutes and when the circle stops spinning, then the green blinking light next to the auto stops...but no pics have downloaded into my iphoto library....very frustrating.  Thanks once again for your input.  : )

also...after the green light next to auto stops blinking it just goes out...yet the orange light where the on is stays on.  and it just says "pc" on the top of the camera display but i've also noticed that while it is trying to download the little tower looking bar on the camera display does not stay on ...I believe that might be the indicator of the camera to the puter...not sure though. hi bubba, I believe so but have never used it.  I think it is located on the left side of my mac laptop but have never used it and am not sure what to do.  : )

hi B.B., I just tried what you suggested and eghh unfortunately, my mac laptop doesn't accomodate the slot for the sandisk size. darn. : (

    Hey B.B. :

I just wanted to thank you for all of your help. You're the best!! I've been different things that you so kindly suggested to me to try to get it to download but nothing was working and then I tried again...I shut down my mac completely instead of just a regular restart....left the computer off for a few minutes and then tried again and low and behold...it appears to be downloading now...although I really won't know for quite awhile because it has to go through all of the few hundred pics on the card to get to the new ones since I don't want duplicates and the transfer menu wasn't working either when I tried to scan down on that menu...but heey, at this point...I'm just happy that it appears to be downloading so I'm not going to complain.  Thank you for taking the time to help; it's nice to know there are people out there that have a good heart and truly want to help another person.  A million thank yous and here's wishing you a wonderful rest of your afternoon and evening.  Thank you.  : )  -N.

The camera wasn't left on was it? I know I've done that before and drained that battery.

The cable could be bad. Do you have a card reader for your computer?

If you put the card into the slot of the computer it should read it automatically.

You could get a card reader and see if that works. The USB cable could be the culprit too. Some of them can be replace at a computer store if it has a D shaped end on your camera.

After a couple years of use, neither of my computers will recognize my G6. This is the second G6 I've had with this problem. Canon replaced the first camera with a new one. I have just returned from a trip, and don't know how to get the photos transferred, before I send it back to Canon. Would appreciate any helpful information. Thanks.

Did you accidentally hit the "DISPLAY" button on the back of your camera? It manually turns the display on and off to save batteries.

Digital camera won't download all pics to pc

I dont have a permanent fix for this but you can recover those precious pics.. When you can open it in photoshop just use file save as option to save them onto the computer.. Also when you are done with transferring all these pics then format the memory card(normal format not quick) then take some sample pcis and see if it skips again.. Postback so that we can followup on this..

If you are using the camera software then remove it and Windows do the Work. If are sill having trouble, Then invest in a USB card reader.
