Sounds like either part of the tape that covers the cartridge (you did remove the tape right?) is still stuck on it and it didn't seat right. Was it harder (applied more force) to latch the new cartridge in place than the old one? If so then there is something either stuck on the new cartridge foot or nozzle face.

Another explaination is that the foot came off the old cartridge and is still in the printer. This happens some times. Examine the new and old cartridge carefully. Are they different? How?

Remove both cartridges and look at the emply holes where they were. See the metal pins? Is anything covering them? Remove any tape or pieces of tape carefully.

I have had similar problems with the driver for printers and scanners. How about deleting your printer and it's drivers and reinstalling them. Have you already tried that?

Hi,
A cleaning will fix the problem. To clean your Canon HP D1668 > open a document (from the computer) and select print from the menu,
- In the print screen window select 'properties' Or 'Preferences'

- In the next window click 'maintenance'

- In the next window there will be many options to clean, align, nozzle check etc etc...

Hope this help, thanks!

I bought a new 23 tri-color cartridge for my old hp 840C deskjet printer. the ink light keeps blinking. when I put in the old cartridge which is nearly empty, the light stops blinking and it prints a page

Are you using original cartridges by HP? If you are using the 'copy' manufacturers, they don't always work.

If HP, check you've removed all packaging, especially around the nozzel and circuit contacts. Look for sticky tape to be removed.

Error: wrong colorcartridge installed.

If you are using a refilled cartridge (worst possible decision) or a third party cartridge (2nd worst possible choice) that is the mosrt probable cause of your failure.

If you are using a factory new HP cartridge call the store where you purchased the cartridge and tell them you have a defective cartridge.

Cartridge empty light

A few basic causes.

1. The cartridges you bought iwere not proper HP ones and many "clone" cartridges are known to have problems with the ink level chips

Take them back and get them replaced with a different brand

2. They are original cartridges but may still be faulty (rare but possible)

Take them back and get them replaced

3. Your print head is clogged or faulty

Run your printerthrough the head cleaning process a few times and see if it clears up.

4 your cartridges are out of alignment

Run your printers alignment test

I would suspect number 1.

I buy until now 5 hp351 colorcartridge, after few days is "dead"

Sounds like the problem is that you are refilling the cartridges. Each HP cartridge has a special chip on it that will only read the original ink supply properly. Try a brand new cartridge that has never been refilled and see if that makes a difference.

HP Deskjet 4280 does not print. 'E' error on Control panel button

I had the same problem. It was solved once I bought an original color cartridge. Refilled cartridge seems not to work on this printer. Glad if it might help.

Hepl me find and download a driver

Firstly make sure that they are original cartridges as most problems are caused by faulty cartridges. Then clean the gold contacts with a soft cloth. install cartridges and turn machine on hopefully this will work if not then the machine has a carriage fault.

Hope this helps you
Thanks J
