Question about HP Printers & Copiers
The original cartridge was exhausted so i bought a new one[ no 49].i fixed along with b/w cartridge no 20[newone].i swtched on the printer but the printer gets stuck in between/doesnt return back completely.so i cant use the printer. so i removed the new no 49 and put back the old one .ow it works the printer head goes back to its place completely.and the printer works. where have i gone wrong?what care should i take while fixing the cartridge in its slot? can u help me please? yours jayaram[india]
Sounds like either part of the tape that covers the cartridge (you did remove the tape right?) is still stuck on it and it didn't seat right. Was it harder (applied more force) to latch the new cartridge in place than the old one? If so then there is something either stuck on the new cartridge foot or nozzle face.
Another explaination is that the foot came off the old cartridge and is still in the printer. This happens some times. Examine the new and old cartridge carefully. Are they different? How?
Remove both cartridges and look at the emply holes where they were. See the metal pins? Is anything covering them? Remove any tape or pieces of tape carefully.
