PC-cillin 14 was installed on my new DELL and appeared to be working fine. Now, whenever I try to scan or update I keep getting the following message: The feature is still loading. Please wait a moment, and then try again." I am using Window XP.
This is either due to bad installation, you could ask the store where you bought your pc to reinstall the antivirus. Or due to strong virus which took control from pc-cillin and this situation is common, for this you can download another antivirus like avira from http://www.free-av.com/ install it, scan your pc thendisable it and go back to your pc-cillin.

Need to test and isolate where it exactly freezes? After dell logo, after windows logo or while inside windows? Now, if it only freezes inside windows try to turn off your windows updates and antivirus first and check if still freezes, if yes then try booting in safe mode, reboot system then keep tapping on f8 once dell logo appears. Check if laptop keeps freezing in safe mode. Please let me know.
if ur mouse moves and ur desktop frozen then it is not hardware malfunc it is definately a windows virus type try to login in safe mode if it doesnt help i worry u have to format ur hard drive and setup again all OS and applications u have this is the only solution and next time pls be updated in virus use pcc cillin or norton antivirus and update frequently and SCAN as well
some of the processes are running on backgroung related to Pc-cillin.
you have to open the task manager and terminate the processes related to Pc-cillin.
and then try to unstall Pc-cillin and install new program.

I had a similar problem and this worked for me
with Trend Micros Internet Security.
You will have to uninstall the program first then reinstall it, otherwise it
will hang and cause problems with your computer.
In order to uninstall it do these steps.
Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > System Configuation.
Makes sure you select Selective Startup, and that Load Startup Items is unchecked.
Click OK, and you should be prompted to reboot.
After you reboot and the system is loaded your Virus Software icon will NOT
be in the taskbar trying to load.
Now go into control panel > Programs and Features.
Find the virus program, hightlight and select the uninstall option.
After its done doing that go back into the Control Panel >
Administrative Tools > System Configuration. Select Normal Startup
and hit the OK button.
Reboot again when you see the button prompt.
Now, after the system comes up, reinstall your virus software,
You should be good to go from there.
The process is for Vista, but if your running Windows XP it is very similar.
