The battery pack is in the coal tender. The top of the tender lifts off pretty simply. It requires six C batteries. You connect the tender to the locomotive via a power cord, which should be obvious. If it's not, perhaps the cord has been severed.

POWER VOLTAGE

No. To work with 220V~240v; the device need a step down transformer to be connected in between line and device. The transformer [voltage converter] should be used, otherwise; the unit will get damaged. The step down transformer adaptors can be bought locally. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

I just bought a computer speaker but it's 110v and my computer is 220v. can i plug the speaker to the computer without damaging the speakers?

Hi ,
If it says it needs a AC 110V connection , you will fry at least the sub . Don't do it ! Connect the device to an AC 220 / 110 V transformer you can find on the net or in all specialized retail shops .

Light comes on (flashing amber most of the time) but a black screen and now sound. Happened suddenly. Working fine until then.

My friend Maurice gave me a L32HD31YX16 with the same problem, no picture no sound, after four hours of research and trouble shooting, no schematics.

I had no +12 and no +24 volts on the power supply board. I did have the +5V.

The repair is an 85 cent fuse under the blue transformer, There is a 200mA fuse, green with a "C" on it, at location RB8 (1206 package).

I went to the shack bought a 250mA glass fuse and holder for 5 dollars just to get it done. So far the unit has run for an hour.

Sounds to me like the transformer circuit that enables the batery to charge. If you have bought your machine within the last 12 months it should still be covered by warranty so go back to the supplier. If not covered I wouod still try as it is not beyond reasonable expecations that the machine will operate perfectly in very way for more than 1 year.

Samson Servo 170 protection circuit problem!

my friend resistors and diodes don't just go off your circuit without a real problem. those parts gave up because of shortage on your power section, i suggest that you check your power transistros first along with the diodes and resistors.

noisy transformers... hmmmm why is that making sound? the solution there is to dip the power transformer to a thick shellac varnish let it there for let's say an hour then let it dry for a day. then place it back in your unit and see if still sounds

GE Spacesaver Microwave not running

If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk It's most likely a bad high-voltage transformer or magnetron, but it's hard to say without being able to check it. If it will run without blowing the fuse, you may be able to do a test. This should only be performed by someone observing safety warnings mentioned at the link above. Put about 2 cups in a microwave-safe container inside the cavity. Run the oven for about 3 minutes, or until it blows the fuse. Then unplug the oven from the wall, and carefully feel the top of the high-voltage transformer and inside or near the finned area of the magnetron to see if either gets really hot. If one does, it's the likeliest suspect. When the high-voltage transformer fails, it often gets discolored and smokes, but not always. You can look for that, too. It's very important that the internal cooling fan is running, and that the air vents are not blocked opr plugged.
