Question about Intel DG31PR Motherboard
Recently I tried DG31PR motherboard with a dual core processor. Everything is working properly except the audio. The built in graphics card also the built in network card is working fine. I am understanding what's the wrong with the audio device? I installed the driver for audio device still it says no audio device.
What should I do?
I have been working on this for months and finally got everything including front audio panel going. First Download the latest realtek audio drivers available from intel's website or go here and download #3 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2839&OSFullName=Windows%2A+XP+Home+Edition&lang=eng&strOSs=45&submit=Go%21. Next goto control panel and add/remove programs then look for realtek audio drivers that have been previously installed. Remove program if one is found. Then go to device manager (right click my computer, go to properties, Then hardware, then device manager. Click on the"+" in front of system devices. Find "microsoft uaa bus driver for high defintion audio". Right click that and select, "disable". Then right click it again and "unintstall" the device. This will allow you to install the audio drivers on your disc, or ones you have downloaded to install without an error message. Once done install your audio drivers and restart your PC and windows should start dectecting your new hardware. An installation wizzard pops up. Install the files needed yourself from a specific location, not a disk. It will ask for location of file name "hdaudbus.sys". That file is in C:/Windows/System32 folder. If it's not there, which it should be, just find and download that one file but it should already be there. I have done all this on xp home ed, sp3. I now have sound, and my front audio panel works. I purchased Intel DG31PR motherboard with a dual 2 core processor, couldnt install audio drivers. The installation failed.
I have installed xp professional .yellow mark in the device manager -sound I have tried many times mother board -DG31PR Dual 2 Core Processor. pls. give me sold

Its easy i figured it out guyz. The same problem with every Intel new MB's. Basically what you have to do is stop trying to install it. Then follow below steps to setup it correctly.
1. Unstall any setup regarding audio device from add remove programs
Eg: high definition audio driver,ect
2. Then goto StartMenu>click run and type msconfig ---> press enter
3. Goto start up tab and desable all the startups presently available (important all the start up's should be removed)
4. Press apply and agree to restart
5. After restarting again try to install (it works this time "have patience")
6. It will Automatically restart again AND THAT's IT
IT REALLY WORKS AND MOST IMPORTANLY UNSTALLING ANY PRVIOUS DRIVER'S REGARDING SOUND CARD IS CRITICAL>

first check the audio card if you really install.heres a few step.
1. right click the My Computer,Properties
and if theres is a color yellow means not install.
And Click Start,Run
Type <dxdiag> and enter here you can test the sound also the graphics.
pls rate me if my solution solve the issue and you need more further information. but if is invaluable solution rate me fixya.

THIS IS BECAUSE OF SOME CONFLICT WITH THE MICROSofT UAA BUS DRIVERS FOR HD AUDIO..
UNINSTALL THIS FROM DEVICE MANAGER ---SYSTEM
AND THEN INSTALL UR AUDIO DRIVERS.. VOILA DONE..

I install vga 1g geforce in intel dg31pr once work and once work proplems in colour but in vga build in good. what is the proplem please

Please check whether you had run the patch for XPSP2 which is available only in drivers CD. First you should run this patch then you have to install Audio drivers, definitely it will work. (Also try by reformatting and go through this procedure.)
Note: Make sure you have run the correct patch and correct audio drivers.

here is the solution for u
in run type msconfig and go to the tab startup
unchek all and restart the system
now install your audio drivers (it works )
again type msconfig and go to startup and chk all
now restart the system and enjoy the music...........

The fix is the following:
Go the intel website and download the latest HD audio driver for your mobo. Install it and all should be fine.
Its a bit of a strange problem which I had on a pearl creek board, but its sorted now.

You should try flashing the BIOS with the latest version from Intel's website. It's not listed as a fix for sound, but the flash let my XP system recognize there was a sound card.

Visit this link: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2839, select your OS and download the latest sound driver. Also run your add hardware from control panel even if you have to select the device manually.........sodeep
