Very often the washer trips the Rcd, but not always. Other appliance work fine on the same socket

If your washer works on a diffferent socket with a high load capacity then the trip happens only because the washer needs more current when it is loaded and so trips. So ignore if the washer works perfectly or else the controller unit / power supply/motor within must be checked.

I just installed my diswasher and im not getting power to the unit. It was given to me by a friend and worked fine for her. All of my connections are good and the breaker is not tripped

Are the power connections to the unit 'hard-wired' or a plug and socket connection? If a socket, try a lamp in the socket to make sure that power is present. Otherwise, the power connection junction box at the machine should be checked with a voltmeter for 115 volts AC. If ok, then there is a problem within the machine. At this point, you may need to enlist someone that can troubleshoot the wiring and switches inside. Hope this helps!

No power to dishwasher

Make sure there's power getting to the dishwasher. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the dishwasher (inside the junction box, behind the bottom kick panel), if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.

My dishwasher doesn't turn on, nothing happens when I push on the start button, it doesn't light up, was working the day before

HI, there are four problem spots that i recommend checking. these are the most common hot spots for a non responsive dishwasher. Check each area thoroughly to address this issue.

1. No power to the dishwasher Make sure there's power getting to the dishwasher. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the dishwasher (inside the junction box, behind the bottom kick panel), if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.
2. Door switch Replace if defective.
3. Timer/control board Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).
4. Selector switch Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

Faulty Diplomat Dishwasher - tripping mains fuse

Hello,

My dishwasher a diplomat 12 program (hja8640) was doing exactly the same where every now and again when turned on at the plug it would trip. After engineers coming out several times and failing to fix it, they condemed it. New one was supplied, however did exactly the same thing. The electrician came back, checked the RCD power breaker and this was fine. It was then discovered that some dishwashers and washing machines send out a lot of earth leakage, combine this with other appliances on in the house can be enough to trip.

Soloution. The electrician removed the kitchen circut from the RCD breaker and intalled another breaker RCD just for the kitcehn loop, this therefore means that the kitchen has a seperate trip from the rest of the house, and touch wood, has solved the problem. This mind you has taken about three months to work out so i hope it saves you some time.

Always use a fully qualified electrician though.

Thanks.

My dishwasher when switched on keeps throwing the trip switch

Try plugging into another socket preferably one that uses a different circuit. It could be a fault in the socket.
