I have a compaq PresarioM2000. the original RAM was two 256M (512M). I increased it to one 1G. Everything seems to be faster and better but the CD player when I watch a movie. After some minutes suddenly the computer freezes and nothing moves (film stops and some vertical double lines appears on the screen - as if like movies in old projectors it freezes). I have to turn off the Laptop and reboot it. Obviously, I can not watch the movie. Otherwise, the computer is faster and better than 512m RAM.

So what is the problem related to? and what I have to do to fix it?

    Thanks.

This happens if the rams are of different frequencies have a check with the both the ram frequency ...
if they are different then remove 1 ram ....
& try increasing the virtual memory in the OS ...
if you are using the windows xp .. then to increase the virtual memory just go to
control panel >system>advanced>advanced>virtual memory settings>increase the virtual memory for the drive in which the os is installed ....
increase nearly to the double of the ram memory you use ....

this solves your problem ..

any doubts you can reply me

thank you

I have p5vdc-mx and id like to add a more powerful gaming card

The best graphics cards you can run on this board by experience is the Ati sapphire hd 3850 Radeon 512ram, or the next best card I personally had was the geforce xfx 7600gt 256 ddr3 ram, this card was a really good performer.

Hi i have a asus P4s533-mx and with a 3GHZ processor and with a geforce6600 (agp) and the games tend to freeze and i have to reboot my system?. any help please

It is the video card. Newer games are so graphic intensive that they freeze up the system if there is not enough video memory. You could try upgrading RAM but I had a problem running newer games until I installed a graphic card that had at least 512 mb video ram onboard. Hope this helps.

3d error show while running most of modern games/ AGP upgradation

Hi,

It takes a hell of a computer to run decent games.
My suggestion would be to save your money, to invest in a new computer setup.
if you get a quality graphics card, for example NVidea geforce 8600 or 8800gts et,c.
your system, will not have the Memory, so you,ll then be spending on RAM.
Next step will be that, your CPU isn,t powerful enough, so that,ll be upgraded. And it,s probably already at maximum or thereabouts, for the motherboard.

I always say, if you want to play good games, get a games console.
It,s much cheaper and cost effective, you can spend £700+ to get a computer to play a game, that an xbox 360 will do for £130. Think before you spend.

Agp.vxd driver for p25g ??

base on what youve said the video card should work properly without any problems because almost all brand new video cards have an exact drivers and application to support your computer. try to see the configuration of your video card and try to set the options of it. if not ill give you a link to download a driver for your video card. just choose the compatibility and download. hope that helps!

Geforce fx5500

timber710,
Please remove the geforce fx5500 video card. Blow out the AGP slot with some canned air. Re-seat the video card & make sure you install it with even pressure (front to back) with slight rocking motion untill the card is completly seated. Try running the system again. ( I'm thinking the card was not completly seated).

If your system freezes again re-set your cmos / bios. In your user manual pg. 2.
Boot to the bios & re-setup all your settings. Save & exit.
If your PC still freezes, try another AGP card because the 5500 seem to be defective.

So hate giving out bad news........

first update the bios of your system.
Then remove the drivers using safe mode, Download new drivers from nvidai web site ( do not use the drivers on the vga's cd). Disable any antivirus software and try again.
