take top off. you will see drier manifold going across top of machine with stats mounted on it. one or more of these stats is resetteble ie has a little button in the middle. press to reset. some hotpoint have a thermal fuse mounted on the manifold so if present, check this for continuity as well. with top still off, put on dry and check fan working as well.
if you get it going and fault reoccurs, then there is a blockage in the drier duct
