Had a Sceptre DCL9A model for mine. There are plastic snaps which hold the back and front covers together. After I took off the screws and detach the monitor stand, I slid a very small flat head screw driver along the sides until I found each snap. They should come loose easily with a slight twist of the screwdriver. There are about 5 on each side of the monitor (not counting the monitor). Do not try to force it as you can warp or crack the plastic.

My scepter e240 wont power on is it junk or what

dear,

first of all, check whether the power on/off button light (LED) turns on or not. If it goes on either orange or yellow/green, it means its not completely dead. If its not doing that then its a different matter.
Then you have to check the power cord that can be problematic and need replacement. If it is ok then you have to disassemble your monitor to check the inner fuse that is related with the power supply.

Most probably it is cause by the Capacitor, if it is dead and after checking the fuse!

best of luck!

On my scepter monitor I do not find blown cap's. when I press the power switch I get nothing. any suggestions

Tops of the caps are completely flat, bad caps can look normal but can have high ESR.
At this point you need to check the DC voltages but plug in the monitor but DO NOT HIT THE POWER SWITCH so it will not see the load, the power supply is running the minute it is plugged into the outlet.
Check the fuse, the DC voltage on the large cap (one with about 80~200uf 250~350vdc), it should have about 160vdc on it, this is in the PRIMARY AC side YOU MUST BE CAREFUL NOT TO MAKE BODY CONTACT IN THIS AREA!!!. Then check to see if it has 5vdc for the logic and 16~18vdc for the backlight. It should be plugged into the out with GFI outlet so you will not kill yourself by accident. Listen for ticking sound also.

Whenever i turned on my computer then after 2 sec its screen turned black,...can i fix this problem

If you have proper tools and know how to solder and good at taking things apart.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

you need to check if your capacitors are blown, if they are, you can replace them...it's a very economical way of fixing it. This is a common problem of Sceptre x22wg-gamer.

X9G NAGAIV goes black; can display, but wont.

Took it apart, all the way down to the boards and first examined the capacitors on the power board7d50dd4.jpg. It turns out it was a cracked metallized polyester film cap (C10), not a blown electrolytic capacitor. Ordered a new one and some transitors from DigiKey. Dont know if that is the complete fix, but the cracked cap certainly isnt supposed to be there.

My sceptre monitor S1902D won't turn on just stopped

If the monitor has no power at all then you have a dead power board, or a broken power cord, test also a different wall AC outlet.

If instead there is a flashing led on front of the monitor, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the Monitor goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1 The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or a broken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the monitor will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occurr suddenly are a blown capacitor on power board, the inverter board powering up backlight lamp has blown, or a fault on main lcd controller board.
check also the video cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

Check connectors, try moving the video cable, and if the cable is not built in, then also try a replacement cable.
Regards

Sceptre monitor

I would suggest looking at the capacitors on the power supply board. I just got one today with 3 blown caps (the tops are swollen) and a couple missing components.
The ones blown on mine are the 220uF @ 25V and 1000uF @ 16V.
