If it's within the magnetron portion of the warranty (usually 5-9 years) but out of the original full warranty (usually 1 year), then your manufacturer will cover the part cost, but not the cost to visit you or the labor charge to do the work.

Generally, the most common causes of a failure to heat are:

- bad door switches or door switch mounts
- loose connection at the magnetron
- problem or loose connection on the control unit circuit board
- bad magnetron or other high voltage part (such as a shorted diode)

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and disassembly information at our site, linked below.

You can contact Sanyo customer service and find an authorized servicer here: http://www.sanyo.com.au

I have a JVM1850 White microwave-over the oven-installed 3 years ago. Last evening the unit would not turn off. The inside light and fan continued to run, however, the microwave was not working.

All the controls and functions seem to operate, but when completed, the unit remained working, as stated above, with the door opened or closed.

We purchased this microwave 4 months ago and the food is not heating up and do not know what model it is but it has a dial setting and is a stainless steel model.

Since it's less than one year old, it should be fully covered under warranty.

I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer or dealer to get it fixed free.

I'm confused. If it's 6 weeks old, you can get it repaired free.

If it's 1-1/2 years old, the manufacturer will cover the part cost of the magnetron (assuming that's what's wrong) and you will have to pay for labor and any other needed parts.

Also, the subject line mentions a model LMV1630ST while your message body mentions model LMV1680BB.

For Goldstar / LG / customer service, help, call 1-800-243-0000 (M-F, 7am-8pm CT, Sat 8-5 CT) and choose the appropriate prompt from the menu or visit here.

Chances are your problem is a bad magnetron, but it may be another high voltage part.
