Question about Acer Aspire™ T180 PC Desktop

Acer Desktop crashing

I have an acer desktop computer and it freezes up all the time. With no exaggeration, I bet that the computer freezes 30 times a day. A blue screen pops up and says something about a fatal error. I took it to a computer store and they had it for 2 days and had no problems with it. HELP!!! The same blue screen is popping up and shutting the computer down!!

I'm assuming you are talking about Windows XP here.
Did you try a "Last Known Good Configuration" from the boot menu (tapping F8 on startup)?

You could also try a chkdsk /R from recovery console.

Insert the XP setup disk and boot from it
select the first repair option you see (press R)
the recovery console will ask to select an installation number (1. usually) and ENTER
type in the administrator password ->ENTER
type 'chkdsk /R'
Let this long scan complete. You will be told if any errors were found and fixed at the end.
type 'exit' to reboot

you may also try a registry cleaner and a system restore before this started happening. Is there anything that you may have loaded that caused this to start happening? Please update me on this and we can go from there

Try scanning your pc if there's any virus, malware,worm or trojan on it because some of those can cause that problem but if you wanna make sure that this computer is clean you may reformat your computer but first back up all your important files.....

You can also try chaning the memory or RAm of your pc.

    If you have nothing important on the desktop, you can wipe it clean and reinstall windows. Sometimes a missing system files also causes intermittent crashes on the system.

Crash system


do you have a good enough videocard ?.
do you have enough RAM ?.
both of this things are importent.upgrade if possible,the computer

I was restoring from the Acer recovery disk that I created when my process crashed before it completed. Now it won't boot up at all...HELP!


Your best bet is to reinstall the operating system. I couldn't count the number of times that the Recovery Discs created by users fail, it's very common. The only recovery that works a high percentage of the time is when the manufacturer puts a recovery partition on your hard drive.

You can try your Recovery Disc again, but if it produces the same results, just reinstall your operating system fresh. It shouldn't matter because either way you will lose your data.

Mine had the same problem. I left it on for 30 mins and it finally booted.
Have you tried the step of removing battery and unpluging power supply for at least ten minutes ?

My Aspire M5641 Freezes at Acer Screen. It says at Bottom of Screen " DEL: Enter Setup F12 : Boot Menu". I cant do anything from here with computer. Any suggestions?


Does it say anything else? Sometimes this type of recurring message can be due to the system time not being set. Entering setup and configuring the time may work.

Acer Aspire t690 Desktop Freezes or reboots with in minutes of start up...Running Windows Vista. Help???


It is possible that your computer is overheating and is shutting down to prevent it from doing any harm to itself.
Make sure that all fans are clean, there must be no dust present as it hinders airflow!!!
Install as many fans as possible. Computer temps should be in the region of 30-40 degrees centigrade. To avoid CPU throttling, where the CPU slows down to prevent frying itself.

your best bet is to make a bootable cd and run at start.
If its not memory then it could be virus.
download malwarebytes from this site -http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Acer Desktop crashing


Hi,
This could be an operating system fault ( Windows/Linux ) But more likely a Hardware or external connected device error.
Solution 1:) try re-installing Windows.

Solution 2:) remove any external add ons, printer/USB devices et,c. And run the computer without Them.
If the computer runs without error, you can pinpoint a faulty external or addon device.

ACER RECOVERY HELP!!!


It comes as part of the package when you bought it.
It's already on the hard drive. Acer recommend you make a recovery disk before you start using the machine.

Solution:
You can press <Alt+F10> or the Empowering Key to launch in a Windows environment, or press <Alt+F10> during boot up. For the Veriton desktop series, you can also press the hardware reset button at any time. For the Aspire or AcerPower desktop series, an Acer eRecovery Management icon can be found on the desktop screen.
