Re: MITSUBISHI BIG SCREEN TV
That sounds like the capacitor issue on the PWB PCB there is a kit for that available at the following link that includes all the capacitors and the borad location numbers of where they go, and it cost less than half what a repair tech would charge just to come look at it. Heres the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/

This is called the blinking green light of death-----only one of two things can cause this problem.
First: remove front speaker grill (IT PULLS OFF) AND remove inspection plate behind it; look for the two bundles of wires coming down and to the right from the front keyboard of the set.
Unplug both plugs you find (different and marked so you cannot mix them up-----the idea is to take the front keyboard out of circuit-----set will still function with remote as receiver is behind front screen)
Try (after 70 seconds) to turn on with remote
If it comes on---defective reset button on front keyboard----use set only with remote or remove and remove actual reset switch---it is located behind and part of frame for screen----entire front screen would have to be removed to get at it.
Second: if disconnection of the front keyboard does not help, the DM unit is bad.
As you look from back of set it is large metal box at extreme left side.
The blinking light is the unit trying to "Boot" up-----these have a problem where caps and a few other parts in that unit fail-----kits on the net are available----Mitsubishi no longer sells or services these units but PTS Electronics does repair them.
Let me know if you have questions and try disconnection of the front keyboard FIRST.
What a great tv this is Mitsubishi did a fine job making this one, but......only an authorized mitsubishi servicer should repair it. This set records diagnostic led codes that the technician receives to help determine where the problem might be, not the problem, but in which circuit it might be. The one thing to try is, unplug the tv , let it set for a minute, plug it back in , turn it on and hope it reset the micro. Next , call for mits. service.
It sounds to me like your bulb has burned out. Look behind your TV for where the bulb housing is and pull the bulb out to check if it's burned out or not. You'll know when you look at it if it's toast.
I just finished fixing one of this units and there a few thing that i changed, the voltage regulator and 2 capacitors and as prevention repair i did some resoldering in the power supply and horizontal ckt
