Good day, We are currently using a Zebra 2746E, that needs to be replaced, the problem is we have a huge amount of labels designed in Create A Label, is there a way to use a new Zebra S4M with the existing Create A Label 3 Software?

check if the uper sensor and the down sensor match on same vertical position. check if ribbon is setup on wrong spot (shouldn't touch before the printhead.

The 2746 is now obsolete and Zebra will not supply any more parts, try looking for a second hand 2746 on ebay and take the sensor out of it.

yes you can do clear labels but they need a backing thats not clear so the printer can calibrate.

Zebra 2746e will skip leaving a blank label while printing.

You need to calibrate. Hold down the feed key while powering the printer on, then let go. The printer will calibrate, print a config label, then fo into dump mode. Press the fee key again to go out of dump. Of your issue persists, there could be a problem with yoru media, or with the commands that you are sending to the printer.

Zebra label alignment

you can adjust this in the template file for your price tags. how did you create your basic price tag label? in the zebra label creator? if so, make the adjustment there. if you have a .ejf file for your price tag label, you should be able to open it in notepad and add the height in pixel dots with the "q" or "Q" command from the EPL programming handbook. This can be a little tricky, but with some trial and error, you can get it.

An extra, blank label prints from a Zebra 2746e.

Check media settings in the printer driver. Check version of printer driver. Zebra printersuse an internal printer driver with their Zebra Designer software (Zdesigner driver) or a ZUD (Zebra Universal Driver) for other windows applications. These drivers can be downloaded directly from the zebra website.

Alternatively you can download the seagull scientific driver and use that instead. (used with bartender program)

Label skipping occurs if the media dimensions are not specified correctly. The important ones are label height, and media setting for type of media.

Perform a media calibration before you go changing settings. Power on printer, Hold top and bottom buttons in on control panel for 5 seconds, release bottom button only then when printer starts feeding labels release top button. When printer finishes press feed button.

the pressure is uneven for the roller. It needs adjusted for the same pressure to transfer the ribbon to the label evenly.

The language from your printers is EPL and the zebra S4m come from factory with ZPL language program, you need to install diferent firmware to the printer,

"...This firmware release includes all features of the previous V4.49 release. It is for use with

the following EPL printer models:
• TLP 2746e..."
Special Firmware Version Size E53.17.3 3 MB

download the firmware, go to the driver and "send file" and send the file *.zpl to the printer.

Great info but i still can't get this firmware to load into Zebra S4M ZPL so that i can print Create-a-Label" files. Create-a-Label" is working off Windows ME.
Is it possible to give me a step-by-step explanation. Appreciated?

All software are buid to suport internal drivers drivers and external drivers.. If you install new printer, check if the software come with the especific driver, if not, probably support windows driver.

install first the printer with the windows and print the test page.

if comunicate, try to open the software, open one of your formats, change the printer for the new one and print. Its possible that you need to ajust the format. Thanks.
