On and off switch doesn't work anymore...

On my television the red(off) and the green(0n) switch won't work correctly. When you turn in on, it automatically shuts off.

Base from what you have said there's a possibility that the circuitry of the on/off switch has gone bad so if you know something about electronics you can try opening it up so you can see it, but I'm suggesting you to take it to a repair center near you and let a professional do it for you for yiour own safety also..

Good luck.........

This maybe the problem the front panel plastic pivot is broken or the little tact switch itself is defective. In either case, you will need to slide out hte main board and remove the front panel PC board.

This is most likely an electrical problem in the power supply, with the most likely culprit being this voltage regulator IC part number STK392-110
It is also very likely that you may have some open resistors and dry capacitors in the power supply.

Just in case the problem is something to do with the Microprocessor having some confusion you can do this.

You can try unplugging the TV for a few hours and then plug it back in and turn it on. This resets the microprocessor, and if the problem is that, it should turn back on, but I would not count on that working. But it is worth trying since it cost nothing and is easy to do.

Without the proper equipment and troubleshooting skills you will not be able to repair it yourself. It would take a couple of hours for a well trained electronic technician to complete this repair.

I hope you have found this helpful, and if you plan on fixing it yourself let me know and I can offer you some helpful advice on what to look for. but if you are not experienced at electronic repairs, it is not a good idea to try and do this yourself, I have seen many people try and cause more problems than they started with. The end result being that they ended up spending even more money than they really needed to.

Hi,

Often, this is indicative that the internal protection circuitry is engaging, that is once you powered it up, the built-in diagnostics sensing something is wrong and therefore automatically shutdown the unit.

Not unless you are comfortable working with electronic circuitry and components, it is perhaps best to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Pls post back for any developments or should you need additional information.

good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

    Hi again,

Initially, pls try a hard reset; that is unplug from the mains for a number of hours. If the unit resets itself and revert to factory default, then it will power up. Of course this is assuming that there are no hardware defects but a systems glitch. Further a hard reset reverts all configuration and settings.

Should this be not corrective, then access to a service manual would be advantageous for any diagnosis/repairs.

TV won't turn on

It sounds that, the memory IC to your TV has damaged. This IC can be located very near to main system control IC. A very small one, with 8 solder terminals. Even though it is very small, function of it while the TV works is great. The work is a semi-skilled one, and you must have some knowledge in electronics to proceed.

Heard a pop , bulb blew out , replaced bulb , it worked for two days , now red light blinks three times pauses then three times and so on , tv won't turn off light won't turn off unless I unplug...

3 blinks indicates lamp door is not on or has not been reinstalled properly. This also could mean the lamp door switch has failed itself. Try removing the lamp door and putting back on, if that doesnt correct the problem then I recommend having the switch replaced.

Describe your Venue SUB10 Subwoofer Problem: The subwoofer won't turn on at all. The red light doesn't even come on. Could it be the fuse in the subwoofer? If so, where is the fuse located?

You can remove the screw near the volume knob and the screw near the on/off switch - then slide out the amp remove the black and white wire - then check the fuse - if its blown look for we repair amps - ebay - if its good then it probably still needs work - it should turn red when plugged in and no signal and green when signal is present - which means amp is on.

I have been having just about the same problem with mine, i can watch the tv for about 20 min and then the dvd player comes on by itself then it goes to red, green, yellow, and black and white, i've tried resetting the dvd player to default but it hasn't helped mine. When i try to turn it off it automaticly comes back on so i have to unplug it.If i find a way to make mine work right i will send you a message to let you know so you can try it on yours. I've had mine just over a year and i don't have a warrenty anymore.

When I turn on my set, light turns green, then after 30 seconds turns red won't come on

Sounds like there is a problem with the power supply. Try unplugging the T.V. and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Plug the T.V. back in and see if that helps. If it doesn't try switching to another outlet, and if that doesn't work then you may need to replace the power supply which would probably cost anywhere from 140 to 200 for one.

My tv has a green screen but sound comes out, then when i change the input to play my ps3 the picture is fine. how do i fix it so i can watch cable

It may be the sequence in which you are powering on the TV and cable box. Try different combinations. HDMI is a flaky standard and compatibility with cable boxes seems to be more and more of a problem these days. If this does not correct the problem, switch your cable box connection over to component (Green, Blue, Red,.. White, Red). Your won’t have the problem with this type of hook up. I hope this was helpful, best wishes.
