Cannot find wep key on net gear dg834g v4

to find the wep key of a netgear router, you first need to ensure that you are connected to the netgear router. after ensuring that you are connected, open a browser, internet explorer or firefox, type 192.168.1.1 or www.routerlogin.net it would now ask you for a username and password. username is " admin " password is the word " password " itself. you would see the netgear page next. click on " wireless settings " on the leftside of the screen. there you would see your WEP key on security options

I dont know my wep key

*For you to know your wep key you need to access your netgear router

*Open any web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Opera, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. In the address bar, enter 192.168.0.1 and press the enter key. This will bring up the login prompt for most Netgear wireless routers. If that doesn't work, try 192.168.0.5, or 10.1.10.1 until the login window appears.

*Enter the username "admin" (again, without the quotes), and the password "password" in the appropriate fields, then click OK to login. If that password fails, try 1234, Password (with a capital "P"), or admin until you are greeted with the settings screen.
*Go to wireless setting then you can personalize your wep key :)

How to find wep key for Netgear wireless router DG834Gv4

On my D-Link router, I type my IP address into the browser e.g. internet explorer, and I set WEP key from their and other commands.

This will probably be the same on your NetGear router.

I would like to put a security code on my internet the model is a netgear dg834pn router

The passphrase you select in the router config page, there is a generate
button next to it, once you put your phrase in, click generate, it will then
generate 4 key's based on a hash ecryption of the original phrase, it should
look something like 321F5D3589
This is the key you input when you try to connect using WEP, not the
original passphrase.
You're better off using WPA anyway, its slightly more secure than WEP.

I have a Netgear DG834G router. My grandson wants

if you have net key it would be faster to reset router using reset hole at the back than cracking into your own network...which is illegal by the way... so when you reset the router, just use autoconfig uitility/setup cd and you'll be fine:)

I do not know my wep key

Your WEP key is the security password that you set up when you set up your network at your home. This has to be done through your computer. When you log into your router you are able to allow certain items internet access. once you have that list created yu should have no problems.

WEP key fro netgear DG834G v3 WIRELESS ROUTER/MODEM

Okay, first you will need to access your router (usually 192.168.0.1 or something like that) you will be asked for a user name and password. (admin password respectively if you never set these up previously)

From there you would click on Wireless Settings and scroll down to WEP Key. Whatever is typed in Key 1 is your WEP key. Write that down. Plug in those numbers for your printer and you should be go to go.

Connecting lap top

If this is a new router you will find everything you need in the router's manual. You will need that to set up the WEP key. If the router has been used wirelessly before, then you will need the WEP key to set up the connection through the windows wireless connection wizard. If you don't know the WEP key, you will have to connect to the router with a cat-5 cable and access the router that way with your internet browser to find the WEP key, or generate a new one. You'll need to type in the router's IP address in the address bar of the browser.

If you find my suggestions to be helpful, please share with us some details so that others may benefit from knowing the whole story. Thank you!
