Why would you want to? Dial up is so terribly slow for just Internet browsing; I imagine for playing games online it'd be even worse (if it even lets you connect with such a slow connection).
That being said, you obviously can't direct connect dial up to the PS3. There isn't a port for that. Instead you'll have to do a work around involving a PC/laptop with a dial-up modem/port and an Ethernet port on it. You'll also need and Ethernet cable.
Basically the plan is to connect to dial up using your laptop/PC, then share the connection on it from the dial-up port to the Ethernet port. The PS3 would then connect to the Internet through your computer. Not ideal, but then again having only dial up isn't an ideal situation to begin with.
Here's some specific guides on the matter: http://www.instructables.com/id/PS3-On-Dialup/ http://www.ehow.com/how_6515109_play-ps3-online-broadband.html
Here's some generic guides on ICS (Internet connection sharing) on Windows: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306126 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Using-ICS-Internet-Connection-Sharing
Here's a link for sharing Internet connections on a Mac (if Mac's even have a dial-up port, I honestly don't know how old you'd have to go to get one with it): http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8156.html
ok, first, check your laptop to see if it is connected to the internet. If not, create a connection (go to control panel, then network connections, follow steps) then, go on your ps3 and go to settings, scroll down to network connections, then press x on internet connection settings, pess ok, choose easy, etc. as long as your pc has a connection to the internet, and you have high-speed internet (not dial-up), you will be able to go online.
have u got a modem to your laptop or pc so it will stop the phine interferring with the internet connection. if u dont have a modem and your laptops a dial up connection the phone WILL make u *** offline. i would buy a router or ask a computer man to fix a modem to your internet wires so the phone wont take u offline.
Dial up is NOT recommended. I honestly do not think it would even work. DSL and broadband work great. If you get DSL or broadband you would need your original ethernet cord and hook up the PS3 from your router. If you go wireless then you would need a wireless router.
I hope this helps. Good luck.
