    yes. standard paper.

  • kenhicg Jun 24, 2008

it gives me a paper tray jam. I found if I push in slightly on the front of the tray it prints fine. Any ideas?

  • Anonymous Sep 02, 2008

every time I go to print it pulls in about 1 - 3" of paper then jams. It is crazy, I cannot get any volume printing done. Sometimes pulls it through and just before exiting machine it jams.

  • chrisr348 Sep 18, 2008

I exactly have the same problem.

We don't use the printer very often. It may be about a month before last use.

  • kenhicg Sep 23, 2008

I emptied and cleaned the waste toner container and cleaned the yake up roller. No luck so far. You should know that the waste toner container was packed when I emptied and cleaned it.

    Thank you.

  • kenhicg Nov 09, 2008

Well I had cleaned the roller, removed everything I could remove and cleaned everything I could clean. I still had the problem. I then proceded to remove the rubber pick up roller. (If anyone has an easier way to do this let me know). once I removed it I took it apart cleaned thouroughly and replaced it in different position on the wheel than it was before. Just to get new rubber exposed. NOW IT WORKS PERFECTLY!!! It's about time. Just reaching up there to clean it was not enough. I had to remove it.

    THank you All.

I have the same paper tray jam problem. Printer starts up pulls the paper in about 1 inch and jams. I've tried cleaning the little rubber roller with alcohol but it only worked once after that now it jams always. I haven't been too happy with the printer and have you checked out the prices of the toner cartridges!!!

  • pgroy1 Nov 25, 2008

Clicking noises came first; now the paper feeds about 1-2 inches before jam is initiated.

Not much use on this printer, but the large rubber roller looks aged & cracked probably a bit shrunk, leading to slipping rather than grabbing.

  • slumlord Dec 10, 2008

I have a similar problem which manifests itself in two ways. Either the paper is not picked up at all and a paper jam is reported, or if it is it is taken up then it only travels about 3 inches, stops and again a jam is reported.

Very occasionally it works fine for a number of copies, then will not work correctly regardless of how many times I retry.

  • chrisr348 Jan 20, 2009

I have now tried 80g, 90g and 100g paper - all from different suppliers. I have cleaned the roller, and updated the firmware.

I have tried it with a full try, a near empty tray and a half full tray.

    Any more ideas?

  • chrisr348 May 11, 2010

I think we may be getting closer.

I notice that when the printer stops, the initial feed is not as far as the initial feed when it's okay. Also, pushing the paper into the initial feed sometimes seems to help.

So I think the problems may be the wide feed roller that I see in the middle when I look into the paper tray slot.

I have tried to clean it, but this doesn't seem to have helped.

Are there any more detailed schematics of the printer anywhere, I don't know the correct terms for the components. I don't know what "smart display" is, and I can't find a waste container on my CLP-300 printer.

I was told by the local repair shop that Samsung made at least two mistakes on this printer related to the feed roller. 1) Many were installed backwards; reversing fixes it. 2) Many rollers were not manufactured correctly - replacement is about $20 (plus labor). They told me to call Samsung and ask them to at least cover labor to determine which problem; will do shortly. Don't forget, if you registered your printer, you got an extra 3 months warranty, 15 months total. I missed that by a month :(

I've had this problem, too.  Cleaned the roller, no dice.  Removed and replaced the imaging unit (as per instructions in the manual), dusting a little around in the space and it now works fine.  I didn't buy a new imaging unit, just put the old one back in.

I would try and clean the pickup roller, with a little of rubbing alcohol on a lint free cloth, and what error does the printer give you and how do you get the paper out then

It is probably the rubber on the paper feed roller that is worn so it doesnt grip the paper. I had this and the paper would feed in then stop just as it was exiting the top of the printer. If it doesnt get this far but is just stopping at the initial paper take up try seeing in smartpanel if it is a waste toner full error. I had this too. You would tip the printer up to feed paper or look for a jam this would knock the dust in the waste contain around a bit and a page or two would print then the waste was full again and nothing. Take out the waste container and **** out the toner dust with a vacuum cleaner and then give it a try cheaper than a tenner for a new waste container!

Hello! I have a Magicolor 2300W that has been standing unused for some time and it won't print correctly. The printer feeds paper from the tray, it goes through the printer, comes out at the top - but...

1. Check the paper size your printing on and whether the Same is used by printer or not 2. Try shaking the cartridges as they may have got stuck at their places for long time 3. Try legal or a4 or letter size for paper

Paper keeps shifting during loading and eventually gets jammed every time

Seems like the rollers are either dirty, or worn out. Probably the latter.

Canon MP470 keeps saying "paper jammed"

I had the same problem for DAYS and there was no paper jammed at all. I went to the cannon site as a last ditch effort & the solution below fixed it. Just clean the rollers and the link tells you how. Good luck!

Message says Paper Jam, but there is no paper

Paper jams can be tricky to solve. The paper is usually stuck inside the printer mechanism so even if there is no visible paper jam, you will still get the paper jam error. Try this:

1. Turn off your printer
2. Open all trays and remove any paper stuck there
3. Locate the button to open the printer, open it and remove any paper stuck there also.
4. Repeate the above step for all buttons that you can find to access the inside of the printer
5. Close all doors and put back all trays
6. Turn on your printer

HP 4200 printer paper jam. No paper is jammed

OK, if the printer says jam but no paper inside and prints after you open and close the cover the paper likely never made it out of the tray. Or the machine thinks the page never made it out of the machine.
As far as input check your rollers 1 in the tray and the pick up roller in the machine if you don't have alot of pages on the machine these likely OK.
Next (and this I have found often) check the paper back stop in the tray. This is the guide to set the length of paper. If it is set just a little long the roller cannot catch the edge of the paper. Sometimes the teeth the guide sets in are broken or worn.
The output would be the sensor in the fuser replace fuser.
Hope this helps

Paper jam on back rollers

If it jams every time while printing only 1 page and stops just past the exit of the fuser unit, it is most likely that there is a problem with the paper exit sensor on the fuser unit. We have many of the 1700N printers and have seen several times that the paper exit sensor actuator arm gets broken off when removing a paper jam.

HP C3150 Printer Continuing Paper Jam Errors

Hp psc 1315 paper jam

. Switch off the printer and disconnect the power supply. Allow any residual charge inside the all-in-one printer to dissipate before putting your hands or any metal tools inside the chassis.

Pin down the exact location of the jam. The 3 hot spots for a jam are before a sheet completely leaves the paper tray, anywhere between the feed tray and print carriage or between the print carriage and output tray.

Take off the front paper tray if the sheet jammed while still in the front area of the printer. If here, you should be able to see most of the paper.

Pull the sheet with both hands and steady pressure. Do not tug as you might rip the paper, leaving a piece deeper inside the machine.

Open the back panel to reach paper jammed between the feed-tray area and print carriage. Carefully remove the jammed paper.

Use the carriage access door to get at a jam further inside the printer. You may need to remove the print carriage to get to the jam.

Replace all parts and return any access panels to their closed and locked positions. Plug your printer back in and flip the power switch.

HP 1020 Issue

Maybe if you hold down the cycle button and let it run through a "test cycle" to receive a printer data sheet it might clear the internal buffer or whatever you call that short term memory these printers have. Let us know. JP
