Windows can't recognize the hp laserjet 1020

If red light not working nothing will happen, printer has to print but in your case we can suspect power supply board or formatter.Step 1:Check printer initializing or not, are you find out any difference while initializing? you shuld disable the " print the event log " in your driver in control panel

go in contact with HP help and customer support....or read ur instruction booklet under trouble.shooting aand help......

convert the doc to a PDF so that the sizes and fonts save. That should fix your issue.

Turn off printer, Goto Control panel then printers and faxs, double click on your printers icon, a box opens with your pending prints, select file and cancel all documents, close all windows, restart printer

First, you need to try update the latest microsoft office patch file from microsoft or you can open the MS Word, go to "HELP" menu select the update MS Word or related. Try the latest patch file first. You also can try windows update and select custom update, see their list have this problem solution or not. Second, you need to go to HP website download latest driver for LJ1020 and suitable use on Vista.
