It's in the **** end. You must unscrew all the black screws in the lower handle. Remove the black heel. Then unplug the Red wire. Carefully pull out the battery pack. Then unplug the black wire

You can order a new battery from HERE

Skil Driver 2336 - how to replace the battery 18650 3.6V

I owned my Skil 2336 driver for a year or two and it appeared to be dead; no power, no charge light. The red LED would come on when you pulled the trigger. I figured it was the battery, but could be the charger. New driver at Sears is $30. I found the battery on Ebay for $8 delivered (actually, the price was for two batteries). OK, let's blow $8 and see what happens. It was an easy fix.

You'll need a small, flat blade screw driver and a solder gun (with flux and solder, of course). The screws look like a small, special Torx drive, but the flat end screwdriver will work fine. Use the screwdriver to remove the four screws, and wiggle the "Skil" cover off (Maybe the other cover comes off just as easy... whatever!). It should look like this:
The battery is exposed. I checked it with a (cheap) volt meter and it reads about 5V DC. Strange, the new battery reads 5V. And by the way, the charger reads 14V DC. Just for the record, I could not get any voltage reading off the two charging connectors at the bottom of the handle, with either the good or bad battery.

Anyway, the battery has TABS. So it's a lot easier to solder in the new battery if you get a battery with tabs. The holes in the tabs are nice, too. The new battery I got was identified as GTL 18650 3.7V 2800mAh and don't forget "tabs".

The Pink wire is connected to the Positive (+) side. The Blue wire is connected to the Negative (-) side. I marked the battery as shown in the next picture:
The tabs on my new battery were longer than the original, so after I soldered the new battery in, I folded the tabs up on each end.
(In hind sight, the new tabs were covered with a black cover. I could have slid the cover off, snipped off the end and slid it back on before soldering.)
Before you put it together, you can try it out. My new battery came with a charge on it. There are two switches; one for the drive motor, and the other for the LED flashlight:
Check for any loose parts laying around and put the cover back on. It can be a little tricky, but it goes back on. Tighten the screws, and put on the charger.... Green light!
4ffc1e0.jpg Speaking of "Green", please safely recycle your battery, and screw"drive" safely.

Hello, how do I change the drill bit

There are key and keyless drills and some have a quick connect spring device. To change the unplug then chuck open it all way & insert screwdriver. Most chuck screws are left handed (turn right to loosen) some drills have no screw inside the chuck. Insert a large allen wrench and tighten next hit the allen wrench counter clockwise to remove the drill chuck.

My old black & decker power screw driver will not accept a charge. I cannot get it charged up.

Black & Decker stopped doing battery packs for the older screwdrivers, like the 9018, some time ago so you cannot get them.

However you can still buy replacement NiCad, Sub C, 1.2v, tagged batteries that will do the job on the older 2.4v models as NiCad batteries for use in power tools are exempt under the European ban on importing NiCad batteries where used in power tools (Specific Exemption).

When you open up the screwdriver look at the positioning of the batteries and the tags/connectors and solder them together the same way.

So all you need is a soldering iron to join the centre tags together and then trim the end tags, top and bottom, to the width of the live/negative connectors and you have got a new battery pack.

It doesn't have to be pretty but after a small investment and a little effort it sure beats paying out £30 to £50 for a new screwdriver. I have done this for my older Black & Decker and Bosch screwdrivers which all work like new again.

These generally have a 2 year warranty and I'm sure these are well out of warranty. Afraid that they really aren't a repairable item as you'll probably find it will be cheaper to replace them. But call the Customer Service line all the same and they can put you in contact with the Service Centre in your area - 1800 444 224

Dewalt dc 980,when i spin the torque dial from 1 to 25 nothing changes

You need to get a new transmission. There is a spring and pin that get worn in the transmission. Dewalt doesn't sell just the spring and pin. You will have to get the whole transmission. The part number for the transmission is 397892-05 for the dc980. To change it you undo the screws holding the housing together. (Make sure battery is removed first.) Undo 4 screws holding front assy on and remove. Undo back cap screws and remove. Pull the right side cover off and leave drill seated on bench. Do not pull entire assy out of left handle. slightly angle the motor transmission assy and slide transmission off. Replace with new transmission. (Lining up teeth is not easy but keep at it until you get it.) Replace motor and transmission assy and reassemble in the reverse order above.

Ryobi 12 V 10: 150r trimmer edger - How to remove battery

Just remove the screws from the housing (I had to do it this morning). There are approximately 12 screws that can removed with a flat head screw driver, all from the same side of the housing. The housing readily opens up, but be carefull, there will be some rubber strips that start to fall out. Make sure you keep these; you will need them again for the replacement battery you install. The rubber strips act as a cushion between the battery and the housing's inner ribbing; helps to reduce rattle & vibration.

Next pull the 2 electrical leads (red and black) down and off of the battery terminals, a quick **** will work well.

Lastly, your battery is 12V 8.0Ah and retails for $100 plus shipping. Mine lasted 11.5 years, but finally died (I think). You might however, want to have your battery tested to see if it really is bad, it may be a bad charger which is only $10 - $20 to replace.
