Hooking Up A Sony XM754HX To Jensen BP210

I got the Sony XM754HX amp and i want to hook it up to the Jensen bp210

http://mobile.jensen.com/jensen/JensenProductDetail.do?ACTION_TYPE_ID=ACTION_TYPE_PRODUCT_DETAIL&ACTION_CATEGORY_ID=STR_CATEGORY_LOADED_BASS_ENCLOSURE&ACTION_PRODUCT_ID=BP210

The rating on the subs says 900 watts peak. I doubt that true just because it's Jensen. I guessing it needs 300 rms. I don't how I'm going to wire it and how can I give it 300rms. I was thinking connecting the mono terminals on the left and the mono terminals on the right together then going to the terminals on the side of the sub box.

How should i run my Jensen A600HLX Amplifier if i am using it to power 2 10inch Rockford P1 Subwoofers?

U need to check the impedance of your woofers .If they are 4 ohm i would reccomend hooking them in series, which is the positive output of your amp will go to the positive of one woofer, the negative of that woofer goes to the positive of your other woofer and the negative goes to the negative output of the amp.If that amp is bridgeable this will give u a good bass and the impedance will be 8 ohm so your amp will run cool and stable

Sounds like you have an ohm problem, Tryy hooking the positive from one speaker to the negative on the other speaker. Then hook the negative from the first speaker to the negative on your amp and the positive from the second to the positive on the amp this will drop your ohm load and the amp should stop going into protection.

take it to a stereo shop. there are variables you may not be aware of when hooking up speakers to an amplifier like ohms, very important!

How to measure watts

You need a Volt Meter and an Ohm Meter. P = VI & I = V/r, so Power = (Volt^2)/Ohms .

You can get the ohms by hooking them up to the subwoofer input wires, and you get the volts by hooking up to the amp output terminals/wires. Although, amps will put out different voltages for different frequences, this should give you ballpark estimates.

The amps are probably going into protection mode. The wires are most likely not hooked up correctly. Make sure you have a good ground, good power source, and the remote wire is run correctly. Also make sure the speaker output wires aren't touching each other, and you have the correct ohm load for the amp. What kind of speakers/subs are hooked up and how are they wired?
