My grip pen works wonderfully, but when I try to use my classic pen, it refuses to click when I make contact with the tablet, and also keeps highlighting text or selecting areas without any type of selection or clicking (during hover). I tried deleting it and restoring default settings, but to no avail. WHat else should I try?

Hi , Mnemosyne , i'm the Guest who had the exact same of your problem , i contacted WACOM and there solution was as follow : " This problem is, although uncommon, usually easily fixable. The first and fastest solution is to simply press the eraser a few times to release it from binding on the side of the pen. If that does not work, pull the white plastic nib, and take a fingernail file (LIGHTLY) to the back end of the nib, making sure to remove any burs or flaring from the nib. I have seen this problem myself, albeit uncommon " , they also suggested if all fails then change the nib ( and thats exactly what i did , i changed the plastic nib with the felt nib - i like it better anyways thats why i didn't bother filing the plastic nib - and WALA my problem was solved and the pen is working like a charm , hope this helps .

From what I read on Wacom's site, they are NOT compatible.
The Bamboo use a stylus that is different than the nib pens that the Intuos use. The stylus for the Bamboo is more like the stylus you can purchase for smart phones. The Intuos pens are pressure sensitive and have different nibs you can use for different effects and feel. You can go to their website and look for compatible pens and stylus' for your specific tablet.
Have you tried pulling the nib out (the end bit you draw with)? It could be that something is sticking the nib further inside the pen than it should, which is telling the pen you are applying pressure. As far as I know there is a little spring inside the pen that the nib pushes on when you touch the pen to the tablet. Perhaps the spring is permanently squished in.
They sell spares on the wacom website.  Just click on the estore tab and you'll fine your tablet near the bottom.  They have switches, nibs and grips for the pen - the switch currently costs €6.50.  Pens cost €101.
I had a similar problem with Vista which made the pen/cursor freeze just as the tip was placed on the tablet face. The problem turned out to be a Vista setting. I went to Start > Control Panel > Pen and Input Devices. Then in the Pen Options tab highlight the "Press and Hold" pen action and then press the "Settings..." button. In the dialog box that opens uncheck the "Enable press and hold for right-clicking" check box. Hit "OK". Worked for me.
You could try recalibrating the tablet. Open the tablet control panel, then click "About." Then hold Control while clicking "Diagnose..." and on the next screen -- the Diagnostics window -- you'll see a new button labled "Recalibrate..." Clicking that might do the trick.
To make the 1st solution even easier, disconnect the tablet from the usb port, lay the pen flat on the tablet surface and plug the tablet back in. Worked like a charm for me.
