LG 37" lcd tv weird noise using hdmi ports bought new main board still does the same thing! Need solution! Lg says "i don't know never heard of this problem", BS!!!!! Ok remote for the tv worked before probem arose, the volume works on the tv itself up/down, when I turn on the tv manually, before the picture comes up the audio is fine but when the picture displays the audio goes crazy with weird noises like engine noise in car speakers very alein like noises honestly really weird, all 3 HDMI ports do this, the rest of the ports work fine but the remote fails again, I took the tv to a specialist and they charged $100 to look at it and said it was the main board and wanted $500 more to replace it, WOW! I found the part new at tristatemodule and got it put in but seems to do the same if not worse, oh yeah when the new board was installed and hooked up everything worked fine remote, sound, tv, game cosole, everything! Please help Thank you

Use an other HDMI cable. Still the problem persists, Check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

SOURCE: LG 42LC2D-EC NO SOUND ON HDMI

your setting for source of the audio is probably defaulted back to original setting in receiver. reassign audio input and problem may go away. it sounds like its not in the tv. i assume you have a receiver and are not trying to listen with speakers in tv. is this correct? if you are not using an amplifier, you may need to go to the tv menu to make sure the audio source is selected as the hdmi input. should take a bit to read thru the manual, but it ought to show you how to accomplish the correct settings.
let me know if it does not.
good luck

SOURCE: "No Signal" for PS3 using HDMI cable

jareddirk30:

you didn't mention what software version your ps3 is. in this digital age it's important to keep software levels up to date, with some exceptions. i'm including the web address for sony so you can update the ps3, but i don't think it's the problem. once you're are on their site you click on the ps3 picture & that link will take you to the software update pg. there you can review previous software updates. i quickly reviewed 1 of those & didn't see anything that addresses your problem.

http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/SystemUpdates

have you verified that the HDMI inputs are are enabled correctly? thereare 4 inputs. refer to pgs 25 & 26 of the owner's manual.

I would put the heat on your LG retailer. clearly the new main board is suspect. you had the functions prior to the swap. the board is probably defective, but with a different problem than what you had previously. i visited LG's site. they currently have nothing in their knowledge base that mentions the your problem, nor is there a software update.

if you need additional help. write back. good luck.

peace-out

SOURCE: LG 37LG30 HDMI no sound problem

This is more probably a software fault within the TV. They need instructions for HDMI inputs & a no sound is a related fault. I would get in touch with your dealer to arrange the TV to be updated to cure this problem. Hope this helps.

Vertical black and white bars on lcd screen

I'm not too familiar with the LG brand, but if the onscreen stuff looks fine (Volume, menus, etc.) then the panel is OK. Try a picture source other than the one you are using now (Tuner, HDMI, VGA, etc.)

1) If it's the same across all of them, then you will need to replace the main board in the TV.

2a) If it only affects one input, it could either be your video source that is bad (which means TV is OK), or
2b) that certain input port on TV is bad, which would mean you either don't use that input any more, or you replace the main board in the TV.

HDMI PORTS DONT WORK

Hello,

You will need to replace the main video logic board, its part number is either EBU60852909 or EBU60852911. These two board are direct replacement parts. There are several boards available on Ebay such as this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-46LD550-UB-Main-BPR-Total-Assembly-EBU60852909-subs-to-EBU60852911-/150895037335?pt=US_TV_Boards_Parts_Components&hash=item23220b8b97

Why aren't my hdmi ports connecting

are you sure that your hdmi cables are good? the first thing i would do is get one that you know is good and plug it in to your tv and to something else, and make sure both are on, and see if it works, if that don't work then you prob have a problem with your source.

47LG70 - PICTURE WENT OUT. STILL HAVE SOUND. HEARD A POPPING NOISE WHEN PICTURE WENT. TV IS ONLY 1 1/2 YEARS OLD. ANY IDEAS WHAT MAY OF HAPPENED.

I have had the same problem off and on with my 47LG70 for months. When the "popping" noise happens, the blue light in the corner stays on, so I know the tv is still on (sometimes I still have sound, sometimes I don't). Sometimes the screen goes black, but other times it is blue. If I turn the tv off then on again, it might stay on for seconds, minutes or hours. It's been very frustrating.

This seemed to happen right after I got my new Comcast box, which came with an HDMI 1.3 cable. I read somewhere online that this tv might not be compatible with that cable, so I unplugged it and am using component cables again. I just did this today, so I don't know if it will work, but so far the tv has been on for 30 minutes with no problems.

I'm pretty ignorant about HDMI compared to component cables. I imagine I will not get as good a picture with the component cables, but I am willing to sacrifice quality if I can just get the darn thing to work. Mine is also only 18 months old.

Hope this helps. If it doesn't, maybe someone else out there can help us both.

I have an LG 37 inch LCD. The remote control

Most of the time it is the Main Board in the TV that the sensor plugs into. They have had many issues with this Board causing this problem. To be sure, you will need to call a professional.
Hope this helps,

How would i know if my HDMI ports are working or not?? Tried to connect a PS3 to it but nothing. Thought it may have been the cable so checked someones that i know is working and still nothing. Checked...

As you already checked PS3 and HDMI cable,
select HDMI input in TV and connect PS3 via HDMI cable. TV should show PS3 picture.
And if still no joy then HDMI input port in TV is bad and need to replace input board/ main board.

Hdmi port

I have a 50 inch and recently had to have the main board replaced d/t the IR receiver was failing intermittently. Since they replaced the main board, one of the two HDMI is doing the same thing (picture, no sound). When I spoke to service they felt the issue was related to the replacement board and will be replacing. The weird thing is the picture is not quite right + no sound. Usually with HDMI it's either all OK or not OK at all. In any event, my problem seems to be the main board.
