Question about Motorola Mobility TracFone® V170 Cellular Phone

Battery? My phone will shut itself off and it will not restart unless I remove the battery and reinstall it. That tells me that there is a poor connection, but it only fits one way. I have a tracfone. Thank you

Try rubbing the battery connections with a pencil eraser. Sometimes they just get gunked up and won't make a full connection.

How long have you had the battery? Also did you buy a 'new' or 'reconditioned' phone. In theory they should both work the same way, but you never know. The V170 has a short battery life, that's a known issue. Is the connector on the battery okay on both the phone connection and to the battery side? Need more info though hopefully these suggestions might give you more things to look at!

Phone keeps shutting off by itself. Then restarts itself

There could be two reasons for it.
1. The power on switch must be dirty and gets stuck in halfway position. If so, then please remove the battery and clean the switch with a fine brush and alcohol, even whisky would do if there is no alcohol available.
2. The firmware has got corrupted. If this is the case (after performing solution No 1 above), then you must reinstall the firmware over the internet using the LG PC Suite on your computer.
All the very best.

Remove battery and clean the contacts. Now reset the battery and restart the phone , make sure that the phone boots well without any time lag. If not there can be errors in the software.
If there is shut down without any action the fault can be related to a hardware issue and might need expert view and assessment.

A warning keeps coming up saying back cover removed and is restarting itself.

The battery is not staying seated tight. This causes the warning and then for the phone to shut off usually.

Take a piece of folded up battery and put it between the battery and the back cover to help the battery stay seated better
