On a Windows 8 machine you have two places to put an icon for a program.
1. The start menu on windows 8 which is the first set of icons you see.
2. The Desktop, which is like the Windows 7 desktop and you put a shortcut here.
This is easy to do as you right click with the mouse and pick "new" then "shortcut".
Then pick browse and pick out the program file you want to run when the icon is pressed.
Then press "OK" and it is stored on the desktop.
On the start menu you have to go to the bottom of the icons to the down arrow.
Press the down arrow and it will take you to the "Apps", which is the list of installed program.
Then scroll sideways to the right until you see the program you want on the screen.
Pick the icon of the program you want on the start menu, with the right hand key of the mouse.
On the menu that pops up, pick "pin to start menu", and its done.
You can re-arrange the icons on the start menu by dragging them around with the mouse.
Look for a brightness up/down arrow in the F1 - F12 buttons on top of your keyboard.
Try tapping on the up arrow for brightness, also try tapping it while holding the Fn (function) key of your keyboard.
If it seems like no power is going to your screen, you may need a new screen or a computer technician to look at it. If someone you know is good at hardware, have them check the power connection before paying a store or technician.
I'm sorry, but this isn't possible. The screens are two different sizes. The Satellite C655-S5132 has a 15.6" Widescreen display while the Satellite L305-S5919 has a 15.4" Widescreen display. The two aren't interchangeable. Sorry! Thanks, and have a great day!
the dvd that came with you computer is a recovery disc ; to recover your computer as new as you bougth it ;so to do so ; restart your com ;change the boot options to boot from the dvd first and follow what the dvd says and excuse my english
try this one....copy and paste to your browser and click 2nd page, Click on Driver Flash Memory SD, click on download.Once you have downloaded the file, Double click the file and it will self install. Follow the prompts.
You get a copy of a program called Nero Burning load that onto your laptop and that allows you to create a cd of music with different formats such as .wav .mp3 etc
The best advice I feel that I can give you, is to contact Toshiba Support, and ask about how to obtain the Recovery Disk, for your Satellite L305-S5919.
Generally, the Recovery Disk contents can be downloaded over the internet, or a Recovery Disk CD is mailed to you. If it's feasible for you, I advise having the CD mailed to you.
This way you'll have a CD, accessible right at your fingertips, and can do a Fresh Install, or a Repair, whenever you like.
Would also like to offer the Drivers and Software download page, for your Toshiba laptop. It's best to Refine your search, and go to the top heading -> Refine Search By: Operating System <- , and choose the Operating System you're using. (Examples: Windows XP or Windows Vista)
