Probably a small piece of paper (now black with ink and hard to see) stuck in the extreme corners (probably the left side).

This printer "caps" the cartridge after a 2 hour idle. A cartridge that is leaking just a very small amount out of one of the tiny nozzles can have wet ink on the nozzle when it is capped. It is supposed to wipe the ink off before it caps it but if there is more than usual and the wiping is not long enough to remove it then the cap may stick and ever so slightly move the nozzle "foot" or plate causing misalignment. The sticking may also be related to a leaky cartridge? Remove the cartridges and check for excessive (any) ink on the foot (nozzle plate). You might also touch the edge to see if the foot is loose.

You probably have already done this...is the printer still out of alignment when you put new cartridges in? If so then it may be a blockage of the scanner that checks the alignment. No user fixable parts here.

And I'm sure you ran the "Align Cartridges" under "Printer Services"...right? This is automatically run each time you put in a new cartridge. It is not done just by removing the old cartridge and putting it back in. Each cartridge has a serial number today and that serial number is recorded in the printer's memory so that it does not waste ink by priming each time a cartridge is removed and then reinserted. Let me know...good luck.

How to change ink in HP Deskjet F480 printer???

  • Check the ink levels by opening the HP Solution Center. Click on "Settings." Click on "Toolbox." Click on "Services." Click on "Service this device." Click on "Estimated Ink Levels." A graphic will appear showing the estimated ink level in each cartridge.
  • 2 Verify that the unit is on. Open the print cartridge door allowing the print carriage to move to the far right side of the unit. Once the print carriage has stopped, lightly press down on a print cartridge to release it. Pull the print cartridge toward you out of its slot. To replace the tri-color print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the left. To replace the black or photo print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the right. Place the cartridge in a plastic bag as it may still contain some residual ink and may leak.
  • 3 Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging. Remove the plastic tape by using the pull tab, being careful to not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles under tape.
  • 4 Slide the new print cartridge forward into the empty slot. Gently push the upper part of the print cartridge until it clicks into place. The tri-color print cartridge fits into the left slot. The black or photo print cartridge fits into the right slot.
  • 5 Close the print cartridge door. If the print cartridge alignment sheet prints, load it on the left front corner of the scanner glass with the top of the page to the left. Verify that there is plain paper loaded in the input tray, and then press the "Scan" button to align the printer.

Use Printer Offline: Error Processing Command

    Hi,

Go to system settings and select the 'Printer' option.

Right-click on the printer and enable the 'Use Printer Online' function.

Cancel all the printing jobs till that moment and redo the process.

Sometimes the 'Printer Offline' message occurs due to a 'Job Stuck' issue.

Check all network connections and functions.

Be sure the network interfaces work properly.

Turn the printer off and on to see whether the device is working properly.

Printing is off center on the HP 6540. The image or page being printed is cut off on the right margin and on the bottem of the page.

ok, most likely your printer cartridges are off. In order to fix this, you can use windows to align them. Click start > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes, and right click the printer thats giving you trouble. Then go to properties. Next, go to the services tab, and click align the cartridges, and continue from there.

Yeah, the only thing that can cause this is paper feed problems.

There must be either something loose in the paper feed mech (look for wobbling "tires") or there is still some paper or other foreign debris in the paper feed path.
