This is a classic error, the exclamation is telling you that the player has an issue and is not functioninf correctly. YOu may need to download a new driver from the manufacturers website (NEC) for your brand. post back if no good cheer lilacgerry xxx

It is possible that you are not able to burn 16X because of the media or type of DVD that you are using now. Also were you using Toast 6 before or did you upgrade?

Nec dvd rw nd 3500ag will not allow me to record on a 16x Memorex DVD-R disc.

There are DVD+R discs and DVD-R discs. It looks as though your burner will only write to the "+R" discs. I believe that is your problem. Try the +R discs which can be purchased individually or in 3 packs just to be sure. Good Luck.

The yellow exclamation point is telling you there is a problem with the device. First thing to do is uninstall the device using your hardware or device manager. Reboot. Your pc should automatically recognize the device on reboot and install the proper drivers. If not then you will have to go to the Sony website and download & install the drivers manually. If this does not fix the problem then your drive has went bad & will need replaced. Good luck & I hope this helps you out.

Install its driver I think. If this device is in the yellow mark in device manager. Have it go to update driver or install driver. The exclamation mark should be gone. Or better install its bundled software application

HOPe this one helps
