What caused wireless connection to fail?


Hi! I have an HP8610 printer that was having the same problem. What was causing the problem of disconnection was the wireless router being in one room and the printer was in another room further away. The signal was being weakened by having to travel through walls, various furniture, other electronic devices, etc. to get to the printer. Sometimes the signal from the service provider was stronger on some days than others. My solution was to remove any possible interference of the signal to the printer. I relocated the router closer to the printer, such that the signal didn't have to travel through 2-3 walls, and reduced any other obstacles. I also relocated the printer from the corner of the room, to a more open area to allow the signal easier access to the printer.
After I made these simple changes, I did not experience any further disconnections. I hope this helps you.

Hi!
-Make sure printer is On
-Check the connection of printer to your computer
-Check for error lights on printer
-Check the printer driver for pending documents to be printed. Delete if there are pending documents.
-Lastly reinstall the software driver if all fails

I lost connection to my printer. I had installed it on my new windows 7 Compaq notebook computer on 12/17/09. I installed as a network connection with my desktop computer. I even enjoyed wireless...


a new auto update from Microsoft has corrupted your printer drivers and IRQs of your system.
try uninstalling your printer and driver in you Device manager and re-installing it....
the last and the worst option is to reformat ur machine and reload OS and install the printer
....

1 - keep ur autoupdate in windows turned off
2 - never install printers or any software with your internet connection in ON position
3 always disconnect your broadband/ internet connection when not using your system

Won't power on

  • If the product uses a power module (adapter), go to Step two: Check if power is supplied from the power module.
  • If the product uses only a power cord, go to Step three: Check if power is supplied from the power cord.If the product uses a power module (adapter), follow these steps to make sure that power is properly supplied to the product. Figure 3: Power module c00745315.gif
    1. Check the power module part number against the part number listed in the User’s Guide to make sure that the proper power module is being used.
    2. If the power module has a permanently attached power cord, do the following.
      1. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
      2. Disconnect the power cord from the product.
      3. Wait 30 seconds.
      4. Reconnect the power cord to the product and the wall outlet.
    3. If the power module has a detachable power cord, disconnect the power cord from the power module and reconnect the power cord to the power module.
    4. If the power cord was plugged into a surge protector or power strip, plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet instead.
    5. If the product does not turn on, or the power light built into the power cord does not glow, plug the product into a wall outlet in another room.
      • If the product or power light turns on when connected to a wall outlet in another room, there is an issue with the power supply in the previous room.
      • If there is still no power to the product, then the power module, power cord, or product might be defective. Proceed to the next instruction.
    6. Connect the power module or power cord to another HP Deskjet or Photosmart product to see if the power module is functioning.
      • If the power light does not glow, the power module might be defective. Replace the power module and the power cord.
      • If the power module or power cord works on the other product, the product facing the issue might be defective. Proceed to Step four: Service the product.

  1. Inspect the power cord for visible damage.
    • If the power cord is damaged, replace the power cord.
    • If the power cord is not damaged, continue with the next instruction.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.

  5. Reconnect the power cord to the product.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the wall outlet.

  8. If the product still does not turn on, plug the product into a wall outlet in another room.

Hi there, unfortunately when a chat re-connects it will be taken by te first expert responding, I don't think there is any way to connect your chat.

Printer is working but item to print doesn't get listed in queue.


Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
