Cant get software updated

This is not really enough info to go on. If this solution is unsuccessful, please include the operating system type and version in your comments.

Go to start, all programs and look for your operating systems automatic update selector. Click on it.

If you are trying to download for Microsoft's Windows, you have download the active X control that may be blocked by your browser. Look to the top of the internet browser window to see if there is a message that the website is trying to run a control or download.

It should say that right below the tabs or address bar.

If you know your copy of your operating system is illegal, and can't pass verification, you will run into big issues. Microsoft has increased its crack down and more and more users are finding themselves unable to update.

Running Windows without critical updates puts your computer and the info on it at great risk. There are free operating systems out there if you would like to switch. You can also license your copy of windows. If I have not answered your question, leave me comments during the rating process and I can address your specific concerns, thanks for using fixya.

How do i download a free registry cleaner on a CD,from cnet.com Other wise i cant connect to the internet.

Hi patriciamcqn,

I'm not sure when you say download on a CD from cnet.com means. If you can't connect to the internet are you using someone else's computer in order to post this and be able to download from cnet?

If so, then you need a blank cd-r and a cd burner driver. If you have both of those, then when you go to cnet, download the program you want to use and save it to the desktop. Once it's done downloading, go to the desktop and right click on the file that you downloaded, and choose send to, and pick the cd burner drive. This will copy the file to the cd for you.

Next go to My computer click on that cd burner drive. It should come up with their are files waiting to be burned onto the cd. If you see that, then click the bubble, or just navigate to the drive. Then on the left side you'll see the first request is write files to cd. Click on that and when it's done coping the file, you can take it home and use it.

Good Luck,

mark
