Is the projector receiving a source signal? if not it will power itself down after whatever time you have it set to do so when no signal is present. Just an idea?
your read crt is shorting out sorry to say the crts are no longer avail, you can have them rebult but on a projection set they will never look good due to phosforous burn I would say it is time to retire the set
Make sure your monitor is connected to the proper video connection- that is if you have a video card in your machine and a video connection on your motherboard. If you connected to the motherboard and you have a video card -your screen will show nothing even though you are powered up. Dont know your situation, but just checking. Ive seen others do this.
try sensing if your cpu fan is working, it is under the power switch side, you can see small exhaust slots, put your hand beside it and feel if some air is coming out when you turn on your pc.
When you turn you pc on and only orange light blinks, it means that no power was getting into it, it blinks because no electrical power is coming from your power adapter and the battery is drained. Check your power adapter cable, this is the very cause why your pc is shutting down. usually the wire from the adapter to the pc is faulty.
