Question about Samsung Digimax S630 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Need Samsung S630 camera drivers for MacOS X

First my hard drive crashed, erasing the installed driver, then we moved (while the Mac was being repaired) and I seem to have misplaced the CD. Luckily our pictures are still stored on the camera (we lost those in the drive crash, too), but I can't download them to the Mac again without the driver software. The specs for the S630 say it supports MacOS X (and I used to have the driver), so I know it exists. Can someone post it somewhere for download? Samsung only has the Windows drivers available on the website.

Thanks,
Glen

You don't need a driver.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

I could try to email it sometime next week. But I got mine from Best Buy (Geek Squad) for free. If you have a Best Buy in your area, you might ask them. Let me know what you want to do so I'll know if I need to try to email it. Good Luck!!!

Cant detec my camera s630 camera samsung on my pc it have a driver or non

If I understood this correctly then my answer is:

Your PC won't detect ANY external device that does not supply some kind of driver that allows the computer to recognize it. A CD should have been included with your camera. If it was, insert it into your disc drive on your computer and begin the installation process as well as install your drivers.

No CD? Contact support for a way to get those drivers.

Hi there,

If you're a MAC user, you could still download pictures from your camera to PC.

No need for you to install any CD software because your camera will be recognized automatically as a removable disk.

Just try to make sure that you'll be using the USB cable supplied in the package and your PC does have good working USB ports.

For transferring pictures with OS (MAC):
- Turn off camera
- Plug USB cable to camera and PC
- Turn on camera
- Connect to computer or printer will come out on camera screen
- Select the desired one
- Press MENU/OK
- "New Hardware Found" will be seen on the right lower corner
- A window will pop out with various options
- Example: "Open to View Files", "Copt to a folder"...

* If nothing like those mentioned above happened,

Double check through Computer Devices with Removable storage:
- Look for DCIM folder in any of the Removable storage
- Select 100sscam folder inside DCIM folder
- Upon opening, all pictures will be viewed

Make sure to check your MAC System for the following:
- Power Mac G3 or later
- Mac OS 9.2~10.3
- Minimum 64MB RAM
- 110MB of available hard-disk space
