Good Day, monkbuist;

TRY THIS:

1. (Lamp may light and go out) suspect bad lamp part # 915P020010 2. Check for 12-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 4 on the Engine Driver PCB, if missing check for an open F9A09 on the Power PCB, if it is open replace F9A09 part # 283P127060 and the Light Engine part # 939P977010 3. (Lamp may light and go out) Check for 5-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 1 and 2 on the Engine Driver PCB if low or missing check C9A37 and C9A38 both 3300 UFD 10 V part # 181P732040 on the Power PCB (part # 930B921002) 4. At power on the lamp turns on and off three times and then the unit shuts down with a red lamp LED (lamp error). Replace the Light Engine part # 939P977010 5. Lamp enable line at J14 pin 6 does not switch to 5 volts after turn on, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977010 6. Lamp enable line at connector J14 pin 6 on the Engine Driver PCB switches to 5 volts after turn on and does go to 0-volts (low) after 5 seconds, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Lamp Power PCB (ballast) part # 939P978010 7. Lamp enable line at connector J14 pin 6 on the Engine Driver PCB switches to 5 volts after turn on but does not go back to 0-volts (low) after 5 seconds, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977010. Good Luck, big IRISH. wd52525 Ballast - back.gif

Your color wheel is failing or has failed. the red light ONLY means the lamp cannot light or was forced to shut down. it means nothing about the lamp or ballast specifically.

If your color wheel isnt spinning up correctly or you have a stuck fan somewhere, the lamp will be shut down immediately upon startup.

Id check to see if the color wheel is stuck or if its getting stuck.

Where is ballast located on 73 inch mitsubishi tv

Actually the lamp with the housing is seperated fro the ballast, if you change the housing it will not chnage the ballast, you will see the cables unplugging when you pull out the housing, that cable leads to the ballast.

you either need another Lamp which is very possible or Ballast Board. Ballast board is what turns Lamp on, pull back watch to see if there is a Ark coming from spark cap on Ballast board if so Lamp if not Ballast board call Mats for lamp 1-800-628-1118 OR Go to E-Bay for Lamp and Ballast Board Look under TV Parts After rereading your Post I think Lamp! The screen piture will not appear, the lamp light flashes red before all lights flashing, how do i solve, thanks

In this case is best if you replace it, but first, try identifying any awkward noises, if it's clikcing the issue is with the ballast, if it's humming, it's with the color wheel, and if you replaced the lamp already, it's most probable that the issue would be either ballast or colorwheel

The power pwb is on the opposite end of the chassis opposite the Input locations. I believe on tha model the plu assembly gets removed from the case and stays with the chassis block. I believe CN1 and CN2 are the ballast connections you need to remove a metal shield on the ballast Circuit to see the connections.

Your set uses the Phillips UPH100W 1.3 100http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/ 1amp bulb part number 6912V00006A which uses Ballast EUC 6913V0002A and the actual ballast isMB03CA part number 6871VSMB13F I would contact LG and give them these numbers. Is your ballast bad or is the BallastEUC bad? Let me know if I can help you further.

Issues with replacing Ballast

The flash code indicates that the lamp cover is not installed correctly. There are safety switches built into the housing that require the cover be installed correctly for the set to work. If the cover is actually in place correctly, there may be a broken switch. Check for this and update this if you can not resolve the problem.

Check your ballast and air filter. I am checking to see if I can get some detailed info on your set. It is a WD52525 correct?
