Light on tube leading to head of cleaner started flashing red and has now gone off completely (it's supposed to show red, amber, green according to level of soiling on carpet.) New bag has made no difference.Any suggestions?

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC28. If the red on/off switch and all 4 white floor setting buttons are flashing, you'll need to reset the machine by turning it off for at least 30 seconds. This should resolve the issue, but if the buttons continue to flash, please check the cleaner head and brushbar for obstructions as shown in the video below.

If the red light is solid, that means that the Roomba is near to full discharge. If the light is flashing red, then the Roomba is completely out of charge.
If the Roomba is fully charged, then there may be a fault.

the sensor is located in the tube that the bag mounts to, if you take the bag off of the unit and have an air compressor handy you can blow out the port hole this should dislodge the particulates that are causing the false reading, there is defintely a clog in the system. let me know if this helps thanks Don the Vacuum Doctor Alb, N.M.

Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
I checked with some of my contacts in the vacuum business and they told me that it may not be a United States vacuum and it might be a Canadian or European vacuum and may not be customer friendly to service, if you have a contact with a MAC or Snap On dealer or a metric auto store – as far as the green light on the powerhead the green light is supposed to let you know if the carpet is clean and the red light is supposed to be that the carpet is dirty, and laos it could be that your belt is loose and needs changing – a suggested belt change is every 4 to 6 months --- show them the screw and they might have something to fit or release the screw head, as per the removing of the wheel and replacing the electric cable, check with your local vac dealer or you may want to check with the Dyson dealer website and or phone # listed below: http://www.dyson.com/homepage.asp Contact Us 1-866-MY-DYSON (1-866-693-9766) Dyson Customer Care is available 7 days a week. ·Mon - Fri: 7am - 8pm, CST ·Saturday: 8am - 6pm, CST ·Sunday: 9am - 6pm, CST [email protected] Don – The Vac Man Go Ahead.Use Us.
It sounds like the battery is shot. These batteries only work for a couple of years and then they won't accept a charge any more. A common mistake people make is recharging them before they need it. This will make the battery "lazy"
