Need to turn off child lock on the remote the down button does not work.

Hi what you can do is to buy a universal remote control for this TV to remove the child lock. You can get that online or on any electronic shops in your area. Once done here is the instructions on how to remove the child lock using remote.
Look at the "Power" indicator light on the front of the television to check if it is blinking. When blinking, the child lock is enabled. You can also check by pressing the "Power" button on the television.
Point the remote control at the television and press one of the buttons on the number keypad. The "Power" indicator light will stop blinking, indicating the child lock is turned off.
Lock the television again by pressing and holding the "Power" button on the remote control until the indicator light starts blinking. It takes approximately three seconds before the light turns on. Thanks

You can try turning it on and pressing all the buttons down at the same time, that sometimes will reset tv's to factory.

Try holding down the menu button on the front panel for 10 seconds this should unlock the keyboard.

Most child locks require you to hold down a buttongn for a period of up to 10 seconds and the lock is released. Try holding down the Enter button for up to 10 seconds. Also if the remote does not work then try replacingthe batteries - this often helps.

The power button on the TV doesn't work because of the child lock?
I went over the copy of your manual for your TV. It must be the child lock timer problem.
I would try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 mins and see if that reset the TV and releases the lock.
If it doesn't work, the remote needs to be replaced. A universal remotes aren't really universal when you need to use special buttons. The remote made for the TV is the best.

i was programming my television by hand because i do not have a remote to my television and i accidentally set the child lock and now my tv will not turn on what can i do to fix my tvtv is on standby, standby light is on. can turn tv on with programable remote after pressing on button several times to set code on remote. press any function button and screen says child lock is on. can't get anywhere pressing any buttons, turn tv off with on/off button and tv goes back to stand by. don't have magnavox remote any ideas?

i had same problem with telefunken ttv2931 child lock, tried turning off power,holding power button on and pressing each button, found by accident that holding down the display button for 5 to 10 seconds worked.
