Black n& DEcker paper shredder CC600 will not turn on

Check if there is power from the outlet. Check the cabling. Then do a check on the shredder to see nothing is blocking the free movement of the "knives " then check if all sensors are engaged. Not closing the shredder 100% ant the not closed sensor will prevent the motor to run. See and here if the paper in sensor is in tact and clicking when putting in paper. Needless to say, you better unplug the shredder when you open it to check.

I have a Staples SPL1506X shredder. the power light is on (auto), but when I put paper in, all I hear is a "click" but the shredder doesn't work. There is no apparent jam, and machine is empty. It wo

If you can run the shredder in reverse for a minute to clear any jams that may not be visable. If that don't work it may be a bad relay. More than likely that is why you hear a click.

My power shredder W11C stopped working forwards and backwards. The power source is O K

Dear Edward,
Most of the shredders have a micro switch that senses if the paper has been introduced to the shredding slot, or not
These micro switches are activated by a little arm/leveler that touches the paper and activates de contact inside the shredder housing.
While disconnected from the power, try to check if the switch is working properly. Check if you can hear a "click noise" while moving it back and forth by using a paper clip (or a toothpick). When this sensor arm is broken, the device will not operate since it does not detect the presence of a paper sheet to be shredded (and the power to hte motor is shut off).
If this does not solve your investigation process, please make sure your power cord is fine. Otherwise, it would be an internal electric problem in the device (obviously!!!)
One additional possibility (since I have no further details from you) is that the device is on and you can hear the motor running but the paper is not being pulled by the blades - in this case gears that move the shredder blades are most probably broken (that has happened to my shredder - and I had to dump it).
I hope this gives you some light in further investigating your problem.
Good luck!

Machine will not go on

Dear Joseph,
Most of the shredders have a micro switch that senses if the paper has been introduced to the shredding slot.

While disconnected from the power, try to check if the switch is working properly. Check if you can hear a "click noise" while moving it back and forth by using a paper clip. When this sensor arm is broken, the device will not operate since it does not detect the presence of a paper sheet to be shredded.
Make sure your power is on (not only connected to the wall - but check if there is any indicator in the shredder). If the arm is not broken and you still hear the click noise indicating the micro switch is being activated, then your problem could still be the power since there is not LED indicator in the panel of this device.
If this does not solve your investigation process, please make sure your power cord is fine. Otherwise, it would be an internal electric problem in the device.

Sherder also cus off on shreder has no cutting power &no suction

Hi - Shredders don't have suction, but if the blades have gone dull, it can't pull the paper in because it can't cut it. Try one sheet or even half a sheet.

The other possibility is that you are not putting the paper against the paper sensor or the sensor is brokern or blocked. This sensor is usually in the center of the shredder slot. Test it by putting a piece of paper a bit down and seeing if the "on" light comes on.

If the blades are dull, it is probably cheaper to get another shredder on craigslist or staples. I don't know, but am assuming this is a small home office unit.

If the sensor is not working, you can try to clear it.

Investment in repair depends on investment in the scanner. Tell me more and i'll try to research it a bit.

If you cant hear the motor running but you hear a click when you insert the paper it sounds like the eyes are ok so its likely the pcb thats defective...give Royal a call at 1-800-524-0799 for parts assistance.

Staples SPL-1506X

Well, despite the manufacters warning label I choose to take the shredder apart and found that one of the plastic gears was broken. Hence the motor runs, but the blades do not turn. The thing I didn't understand, the there are metal gears and plasic gears...I can only imagine that the plastic gears at one point or another are going to give. I would suggest not to void the manufacters warrenty, take the shredder back, and get one that is built a little stronger. Hope that helps.

Staples SPL-1506X Shredder Issue

I had the same problem. I have a solution but I do not recommend this unless you have technical experience with repairing electrical appliances. I took the back cover of the main shredder unit to expose the wiring (there are 7 screws in total). The bin full sensor has a blue, green, and red connected to it. I clipped the blue wire to defeat the Bin Full error. You can look through the plastic window to check that the bin is full.
