Handheld will no longer hotsync. I think the program was corrupted on the computer and I accidentally deleted one of the files. I'd like to download another program and reinstall it on my computer.

Hi Dr.Coldoff,

Please remove and reinstall the software to see if it works. Or else try to reset your Device:
How to reset the Tungsten E2
1 Press and hold the power button.
2 While holding the power button, use the tip of the stylus (or a similar object
without a sharp tip) to gently press and release the reset button inside the hole
on the back of your handheld.
3 Wait for the Palm Powered? logo to appear, and then release the power button.
4 When you see the message that warns you about erasing all of the info on your
handheld, do one of the following:
* Press Up on the 5-way navigator to finish the reset and show the touchscreen.
* Press any other button to do a soft reset.

In case you are facing any difficulties, forward me your email ID and I will reply to it

I have just bought a replacment Z22 tried to hot sync fom PC and it closed the Z22 down and will not come back to life why?

HI,
I had the same problem with my Palm TX. What I did was to first make sure I had the most up to date desktop software. I got this from Palm.com. I found that I did have the most recent software version so my next step was to do a hard reset on my palm. Make sure you have all your information backed up on your computer before doing the hard reset! To do the hard reset here are the steps:
  1. Press and hold the Power (on/off) button on the front panel of your device.
  2. While holding Power, use an unfolded paper clip, or the reset tool at the tip of your stylus. Gently press and release the RESET button inside the hole on the back panel of your device (where's the reset hole?).
  3. If you see a progress bar (see below), keep holding the Power button.
  4. Next, the Palm Powered screen will appear. Release the Power button when you see it.
  5. You'll see a screen that asks: Erase all data? YES = "up" button NO = any other button. Press UP on your 5-way navigator to complete the hard reset.
After you do this try the HotSync. Your z22 should sync with all the info from your computer. Best wishes.

First you need to reset the TX:
hold the reset button on the back of the unit, then turn the power on. Hold the power button while releasing the reset button. The TX will power up to the screen where it will ask you if you want to reset it to factory default.
Afterwards go to this link,

http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=1568,E=0000000000263321976,K=3877,Sxi=4,case=obj(32859)

and download the Palm Desktop/Sync software and install it onto your PC. After installing the the Palm Destop software, connect the sync cable to the PC via the USB, then connect the cable to the TX and push the sync button.

Click on this link or copy and paste the complete link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Cannot sync palm tx to laptop computer

Reinstall the Palm Desktop from this link:
http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=1568,E=0000000000263321976,K=3877,Sxi=4,case=obj(32859)

PS: you may need to uninstall the Palm Softwrae on the computer, before you download and reinstall it.

Perform a hard reset. Hold the power down and push in the reset button on the back of the TX. Let go of the power after the screen comes up .Afterwards, connect the sync cable and let the OS setup the TX. Once that is done, hit the sync button.

Hot Synch an existing PalmVx data to a replacement palmVx

HI,
The first thing you want to do is to do a Hard Reset on the used PDA that you bought as a replacement. To do that follow these steps:

1. Hold down the power button and then depress the small hole in the back with the tip of your stylus.

2. Continue to hold them both in until you see the Palm logo.

3. Let go of both of them and then follow the onscreen directions. You will want to answer yes and use the 5 way navigation button on the bottom of your pda and hit up so that is completes the reset. After that you will have to set up your touch screen and go through the tapping the target. After you have gone through all this then do a hotsync2.gif. It should clear up your problem. Best wishes.

I cannot turn my Palm 500 on the light just stays green

Have you tried to reset? Turn your Palm over. On the back side there will be a little indentation for resetting the device. Take your stylus and push the button inside the indentation.

Did this work?

No, then leave it on, (assuming it is on because of the green light) and let the battery run out of power. When it does run out, the light should go off. Plug your Palm back in to power to recharge and see if it comes back on normally. If it doesn't, there is one last thing you could try. Your manual will explain how to do a full factory reset. If it doesn't, reply back to this post and I will explain how. Binary Bob
