Best way to check what if the mouse if faulty or not is to use it on a different pc and do the same thing so you should be replacing that mouse already becase there can be some problem inside..But if that mouse have the same problem on other PC a software update should do the trick for it..

Hope that helps........

    Two things-

A bug might on the computer that causes it to freeze when you have the computer on even when you are not using it.

if sleep mode is active try going to control panel and go to power options and disable sleep mode or put hibernate to disable..

2nd is that there might be a problem on your USB drivers

Try reinstalling the SetPoint software first, and try a different port.
To get the latest version of SetPoint, please go to the Logitech Downloads Page.

Try this article as well from the Logitech Knowledge Base, and let me know how it goes:

HI,

Did you try plugging it into a different USB port and see if you face the same problem And also try reinstalling the drivers.

Try using a different mouse to see what happens. If the problem goes
away, the solution is simple. If it doesn't, you've ruled out the
possibility that the mouse is defective.

G 500 logitech freezes intemittently

I think i found the solution to the Logitech G500 mouse freezing problem: the 5-pin USB cable uses an embroidered thread of fine wire for the first pin on the left (black cable at the internal connector inside the mouse). These fine threads tend to break over time due to movement of the cord, it usually brakes by the point were the cord exits the mouse casing. what i did was actually very simple: I Opened the mouse (there's 5 screws you have to remove: 2 over the optical sensor, one underneath the sticker on the center, one on the right, and one at the bottom of the mouse), then remove the scroll wheel (and basically remove every screw you see on the inside of the mouse), there's also a pin holding the scroll wheel in place, remove that too. Now remove the circuit board and detach the USB 5-pin connector. Inspect the cable (you might have to remove some of the protective cover), if you find that the embroidered wire is broken, as i did, then proceed to twist the fine threads of wire on both ends, and then twist both ends of the broken cable togheter. Obviously the resulting cable is a bit shorter than the others 4... not a problem! simply align all cables and twist the excess wire forming a circle, and just tuck it in at the bottom casing of the mouse when you put it back together. This solution might not be the most clean and professional (perfect solution would be to replace the cord), but it only took me 15 minutes, and my G500 mouse is working perfectly since; hope it helps!

Wireless mouse does not work after changing batteries.it always has in the past The Dell computer and mouse is probably 8 years old but has always worked.

Try moving the mouse receivers usb plug in to another port. Unplug any new devices and restart computer. Then replug in any new usb devices.
If still not working.......
Look at Office Depot and other office stores for a replacement wireless mouse. I have seen them as low a $9.99 on up. You might even want to upgrade and get a wireless mouse and keyboard set.

There isn't connection between the wireless mouse and laptop

First, reload the softwear than came with the mouse. Then, check the cable connections from the receiver to your laptop. If USB, then unplug and replug, if PS-2, unplug, replug, make sure the cord(s) are seated fully in the laptop. Then change the battery in the mouse, push the connect button on the mouse, and you should be back in business. I have Logitech wireless keyboard and laptop and have not had any problems after reinstalling and checking batteries and initiating the reconnect button. You will see a small window on your screen saying the mouse is connected on Channel 1 or 2. I hope this will help you.

check the cable of your mouse, maybe its loose connection..try to reconnect it( usually, the cable end is color green) OR if it is in USB drive, reconnect it to the USB port then restart your computer. That's it!!!

My mouse freezes up

have you tried new batteries?

Sep 15, 2007 | Dell U0636 Mouse

Mouse stops responding randomly

The issue may not necessarily be with the mouse. Are you able to use the keyboard once the mouse freezes? If you not even able to use the keyboard, there is some application installed on your computer or a virus due to which the mouse freezes. If, in case, the keyboard works even though the mouse is stuck, try changing the USB port or try a different mouse. Please revert back with any other observations. Good Luck
