New HP photosmart C6280 all-in-one.will not do two sided automatic print.showing two sided printing module missing!

1. Click the Start (Windows) icon, click Control Panel, click Hardware & Sounds, and then click Printers.
2.Right Click on the printer icon and Select Properties.
3. Click the Device Settings tab
4. Ensure that the "Duplex Unit (for 2-sided printing)" status is set to 'Installed'
5. Also, the "Allow Manual Duplexing" status should be set to "Disabled" .
6. Click OK to save settings.

check for the result , this should resolve .

If not, try alternate drivers.

    Steps provided to the customer.

    Solution 1:
    =-=-=-=-=-
    1. Click the Start (Windows) icon, click Control Panel, click Hardware & Sounds, and then click Printers.
    2. Right Click on the printer icon and Select Properties.
    3. Click the Device Settings tab
    4. Ensure that the "Duplex Unit (for 2-sided printing)" status is set to 'Installed'
    5. Also, the "Allow Manual Duplexing" status should be set to "Disabled" .
    6. Click OK to save settings.

    If the issue persist after performing the above steps then perform the provided below steps and check the functionality of the All-in-One.

    Solution 2:
    =-=-=-=-=-=
    1) Click Add Printer
    2) Select local printer
    3) Choose Port as LPT1
    4) Choose HP and then select HP Deskjet 6500

    After the driver is installed, perform below steps:
    1) Right click on HP Deskjet 6500 printer icon in Printers folder
    2) Click on Properties
    3) Click on Ports tab
    4) Choose USB001
    5) Click Apply and click Ok

Hi I have the same issue with a PS 7460 saying "Automatic Two-sided Printing Module missing " even though it is installed. It even show's it is installed when I browse via the IP.

Any fix much appriceated

I have this model, two-sided module is in back of unit, confirm it is there, small footprint with 2 clips to release. to print two-sided you have to go into the screen menu and confirm you wish to do same per print job.

I have the same issue with the HP Photosmart D5360. HP obviously has bad drivers.

You need to open an issue with HP about this and don't let them off the hook. I have done so, and admittedly haven't got anywhere, but I will continue pushing. If enough of us do this we may have a slim chance that someone at HP just may pay attention. But I doubt it, they certainly aren't customer focused.

And I think HP outsources their driver development so the author(s) are probably long gone by now. Too bad since HP used to be an ok company, now they're just another big corporate giant trying to **** money without paying attention to quality. This model will drive them out of business in certain segments.

printers will only print black and white unless you change the print settings to be color
before you go to print find the printer settings or options and make the default setting color
that way it will print exactly what is sent from the computer to the printer

The c6280 prints automatically on both side of the page. I wish to print automatically on both sides of the page. But the option to automatically print on both sides does not come up on my new computer....

I can only think it coto be the driver needs to be updated.

I had the same with my printer but it not same as yours but after I updated I could see all.

HP PHOTOSMART C6280 ALLINONE PRINTER HAS A OUT OF PAPER ERROR BUT THERE IS PAPER IN IT


Make sure you inserting the paper not deep inside just insert and stop it when you feel any resistance .and try to print something. If it is print then well otherwise you have to show it service center.

When i print multiple pages. and I tell it to print two sided. It prints odd numbers and then I have to keep changing the pages and putting them back in. Isnt it supposed to do it automatically?


Hi,

In order for the printer to print on both side “automatically”, you need to have a device called a “duplexer” installed. Is a device that goes in the back of the printer (where the paper jam door is).

have you use duplex unit?
you have to change your driver option both side print
