I have a JVC Mastercommand 13" color TV. it is hooked up to cable. When I select auto program, it shows all the channels available and then says programming ended. Then when I try to view thos channels, I only get a few. I think the program lock is on and I don't know how to disable it.

SOURCE: Cant access "Antenna" in tv menu to change to cable

Hi,
It sounds like you haven't selected cable in the "pull-down" menu. You see, you physically have to tell your tv if you're selecting "over-the-air" programs(free), or cable. Select the cable option &
then run "auto-select". Your tv will go through it's steps & find your cable stations. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: programming digital channels

The problem is not with your TV. You need a digital box to unscramble the channels.

SOURCE: We have a zenith concierge

You have to purchase the master remote from Zenith or a hotel supply company. This is the only way to gain access to programming the concierge. The remote is currently $24.99.

SOURCE: 61A61 TV IS WILL ONLY PICK UP ONE CHANNEL #66 AND NOT CABLE INPUT

Cable companies are slowly but surely reducing the channels you can get without a digital box, which they will supply. You will need to cantact them and rent a HD cable box or converter from them that will work with your displays built-in tuner. However, if your display is HD compatible, then I would just asked your cable company for and non-DVR HD cabe box and connect it to your display with component cables....

I can't figure out how to program cable box. The cable is hooked up to the TV, but I can't find out how to get channels. Is there a certain menu or imput?

Are you getting any picture at all? check your tv's input button on the remote if your cable box is hooked up with hdmi select hdmi, if it is component video cable select component video, and if it uses a coaxial cable it should be something along the lines of tv. Push the input button on the remote to switch between the different modes

I have Sony PictureTel TV but I cant watch more than 13 programs. Remote controler is original and I still cant go up to 13 chanels... :-(

If you have the Sony remote go into the customer menu and select either setup or the part that determines if you have the set in the AIR or CABLE band.

In the air band the set is only going to get the first 2-13 channels.

Once you find it use the remote to select cable or CATV--(same thing).

Once it shows you are in the CATV mode(I presume you have cable etc) if you still do not get any channels above 13 look for the AUTOPROGRAM FEATURE and engage it with the remote==the set will scan thru and pick up all the available channels.

I just got cable hooked up and I'm trying to watch tv on an older Orion tv/vhs. When I go to menu options I can go to all of them except the channel set. I know the cable connection works because I hooked...

Try switching between Cable and TV on your menu. Or you can insert a VSH and when you eject it, you should be able to bring up menu and do a reset.
Make sure the cables into and out from are in the correct positions, as a cable signal go to the output will not work.
I'm sure you have checked the connections in and out but just needed to make sure !
Do you have a remote for the Orion, without the remote, you may not have the correct functions available to function properly.

I can't get channels bwyond 13 and remote is gone so I can't reprogram for other channels. Can this be done withour the remote?

hopefully you have a menu button on your TV, if so you should be able to access auto program (you might have to search to find the auto search)but before you auto program make sure you set your TV to a cable setting then auto program. If you do not have a menu button on the TV, you could also try buying a universal remote. If you don't want to do that you could always use a VCR, just set your TV on channel 3 and do a auto program on the VCR ,using the VCR remote you should be able to tune in the channels your missing through the VCR.

Can not get all my cable stations

I will asume that you are not getting above channel 13. In that case you need to go into your menu of the tv and find the auto program area to program in your cable channels. You will also need to put the tv in cable mode as well. It will be in that same section of the tv.

My LXI TV won't allow me to get any channels above 13 after doing the auto scan for channels. I am using DirectTV.

The only way to fix the problem is to hook your TV to a standard cable hookup and go through the "auto memo" scan process. The auto scan progarm then automatically sets itself to the CATV mode, rather than the standard mode, so channels above 13 can be received after disconnecting and reconnecting to a DirectTV, satellite antenna.

TC-32LX85 only stay on 5 minutes.

Just found a solution to this problem (conveniently hidden on unlucky page 13 of the user manual). This means that your TV is in store mode... it refreshes every so often and changes to the different inputs to show store viewers the quality of different inputs.

First, go to Menu - Setup - Advanced Setup and make sure that the "Auto power on" is set to "No." Turn the TV off and unplug it. Plug it back in. Press and HOLD the power button on the TV (not the remote). Hold for 2-3 seconds or so... you'll hear a few clicks. Release the button, then press it. The first thing that pops up should be, "Select viewing environment." Make sure you select "Home." Continue with setup from there.

Voila!
