First .jar is a file extension so you won't need to do anything special for downloading but the file sits so when download JAVA based games the file is there to basically run those games for you. So there isn't anything needed to "fix" the problem for your Dell Aero.
where did you save your applications? you may have saved it on your memory card, if the applications are saved on your memory card, the files may have been deleted or corrupted. or if the applications are saved on your phone memory, then it may have been deleted or corrupted.
regarding your second inquiry, you may not have enough memory left, try to delete some apps, try to turn off and on your phone, remove battery and sim card. wait for a few seconds before you turn it on. then try to access some applications.
In order for you to download softwares, you can visit sites like zedge.net and getjar.com, those two sites have lots of applications compatible for your Samsung Star. Now, once you've searched for the file that you want to download, save it in your computer, make sure that it has a .jar or .jad extension. Once saved, connect your phone to your computer using a USB or bluetooth connection, select Mass storage (make sure that you have a memory card inserted). After that, locate the memory card in your computer create a folder in your memory card and save the applications/softwares there. Once saved, disconnect your phone from the computer. Open your phone and locate the files you've saved. Open it and it will prompt you if you want to install it. Installed files goes to Games & More section.
i have most simpler solution. 1. in ur PC, open a new notepad file. (anyname.txt) 2. write <html><body><a href="yourApplicationName.jar">install yourApplicationName.jar</a></body></html> 3. save it and close the file. change file extension to .html 4. transfer this file to ur Corby along with the Jar & Jad files of ur application 6. open this file to run the application and click the link displayed 7. enjoy ur application
