Firmware file ThaMp3Doctor, I have a zipped file Siren sent me but I can't see how to post that in this forum. I tried in the manual section but they only accept .txt, pdf, etc and not .zip files. Suggestions? Thank you! Jamora

Since you've downloaded the zip file, were you able to unpack it with
Winzip op Winrar ?
When using XP you can unpack by:
1. [Right click on the zip file] Open with > Compressed maps [left click on Compressed maps]
2. The next screen shows the opened zip file. On the left side the
folder task manager can be opened ( Folders / Maps in the top bar not selected): "Unzip all files" : follow up the Windows unzip wizard and
remember the location of the files.

How to do the firmware update is explained in the pdf file "How to update 1.0.0-B2 - VP8870 .pdf", added to the firmware update in the
zip file.

While performing firmware update all data will be erased !

You must use the native software - still available on rio's website. No other transfer method will work with this player.
