Most likely a power supply problem although it could be something else. Is there anything that happened that may suggest why you are experiencing this problem. When you try to turn it on, does anything internal try to run? Do you have any audio? If nothing happens at all, the first thing to check and possibly replace is the power supply. You can test it with a meter. Let me know of any further questions that you may have with this and I would be happy to help

good luck

Also, a hard reset for a projection tv is generally 8 hours or overnight in order for the capacitors to fully discharge. I don't believe it will help, but it is worth a try.

There is fault in the tv circuit , LED blinks or flashes on the front of your television. Each set or frequency of the blinks indicates a very specific problem with the television itself. In some cases, you may be able to repair the television set yourself -- or in the worst case you may need to order parts, call a local repair shop to the have a repairman sent out, or even purchase a new television set.

When it shuts off. Try doing what's called a self-diagnostic test.
As soon as the television shuts try these steps.

Pressing on the front panel's ?INPUT? and ?MENU? buttons at the same time, and holding for 5 seconds,
activates the Self Diagnostic Code Mode. The LED flashes denoting a two digit Error Code, or indicating no problem
has occured since the last Initalization.

Please do Note: The front panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control.

? The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.
? The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second.
? The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code.
? The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.
Example: If the Error Code is ?24?, the LED will flash two times, pause, and then flash four
times.

The Error Code designations indicating a malfunction, or no malfunction, are listed below:
Self Diagnosic Code Description
1 - 2 = no error detected
2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current)
2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies)
2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection)
2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source).

Good luck!

If you would like to attempt a DIY, you will need a service manual to guide you to trouble shoot SMPS. You can find one here:

You will need technical help to identify the circuits in trouble and the correct remedy. The Strato blinking code gives key diagnostic indicators, but still, it will require a tech to dig into that section identified by the diagnostic code in order to find the specific default. If you have experience in electronics then i can get you a schematic and service manual so that you can try fixing it yourself..

Regards,
Sai.

    the
double-side board (the one lying flat/horizontal just to the right of
the vertical power supply board which has the fuses) has a burnt
transistor (the one with the sizable heat sink on it, at the back left
corner when looking at the board from the rear of the TV). It is
    blowing the (non-power supply) fuse.

You have tried the first thing I would suggest. Next count the number of times the light flashes. It should flash in a pattern approximately one sec apart, then pause 3 seconds and start the same sequence over. The number of blinks will help narrow down the area of the problem. I suspect it is either in the HV section or the power supply. Have you had a power bump recently? Lightning strike? Anyone else in the neighborhood have trouble? Find out the additional information and get back to me and I will try to help you out.

If the TV goes in standby, then it is in protection mode.

Ensure also that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending
bad signal, check if you get same problem on DVD with no receiver box
connected.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1Theinternal circuits are jammed because of electrostaticcharges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage readby the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started theprotection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrongvoltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in, starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the TV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

On LCD Payparticular attention at inverter and power board, power board can beinspected looking for bulged or leaking capacitors, then tested with amultimeter. The inverter is more difficult to test , there is need toread voltages, should be done by a tech. Also the LCD controller board can cause same problem

On Plasma, test Sustain (Ysus/Zsus) / Buffer boards , cables to plasma, digital board and power board.

On Rear Projection : check lamp, lamp ballast, power board, and convergence.

On CRT TVs, check ballast , flyback transformer, CRT, Tuner, Convergence.
