No Manual for the above

I have recently bought a second hand Philips VR550 VHS Vcr from Amazon.co.uk and when it arrived it had a manual for a DVD player. I am therefore trying to get a manual for the VCR and wondered if I can download this? I have tried already this morning but only got page 1 of 16, do you know why this has happened?
Many thanks for your anticipated help,

Tina Poyner

No sound Problem - Philips VR550 VHS VCR

If your pre-recorded tapes also play without sound, then check the scart lead is in straight.

If not, then it's more likely to be a dirty audio head.

Try a VHS head cleaner tape.

Phillips VCR 550/07

Calmly and relaxed, read the operator's manual to realize the exact proceedure or one-day, multi-time-setting. Upon reading the context will indicate the component's ability and weather the programing is to be direct component button pressing or through the remote control.

Problem

sounds like the capacitor on the start up voltage to the drive ic in the power supply has dried up.If you never unplugged vcr before you wouldnt have noticed problem. Now since unplugged cant start up properly. It is the capacitor nearest the ic in the psu can.If you know anyone handy at electronics should be an easy job for them.

Playback sound

Unit might be picking up 60 cycle hum or other electromagnetic field. Is VCR sitting on/under another piece of electronic equipment? If so, it could pick up such from the power supply circuitry of that other device. Try moving the VCR away from other equipment and see if the unwanted sound disappears.
