Question about Sony VPL-EX1 Multimedia Projector
Sounds like you have a dead lamp. This projector seems to have a desing fault where the filtration system is ineffective. Even though you lean the filters, dust buildsup around the lamp and blocks the small airvent flow built into the lamp housing. Lamp overheats and fails. We currently get 600-800 hours from a VLP-EX3 lamp.
Solution - Replace lamp. Ideal solution - Replace projector, avoiding SONY
