Demo Mode JVC KD-G333 head unit

When ever I turn off the ignition and back on the unit is back in demo mode
although I turn this off each time. The radio presets remain but all other setting don't.
I have it fitted in a 1993 fiesta and it is wired as follows

Yellow Battery
Black Gnd
Red Red(pemanent live ?)

Any thoughts please

Thanks John

I have same with KD G322

  • Anonymous Feb 25, 2009

I have the same problem, the cd player is fitted with an ISO connector, everytime I turn off the ignition, the demo mode reappears.

  • Anonymous Apr 01, 2009

Exactly the same here... I suspect that either the harness adaptor or the Steering Wheel remote adaptor (purcheased from Halfords) does not have the "unswitched"power supply connected properly.
ie. when the ignition is switched on, all works OK, but when the ignition is switched off, all setting are lost as there is no longer a power feed...
If only I could get hold of the wiring diagram for the KD-G333 rear connectors...

Hi guys, I had this problem and i just found a solution.

I was on FM mode when i tried this:

Hold down "sel" until the display says "demo"

Turn the volume knob and the display will toggle between "demo on" and "demo off"

I went back to CD mode and the blasted demos no longer appear!

Most of the JVC head unit you have to enter the menu to turn the demo mode off. I have the HD50R model, and the way I had to do it was, hold down the menu button (will take you menu mode), first option was the demo, selected the demo by pressing the volume button, then using the volume button again, scrolled it to off and press the volume button to accept changes. To exit out of the menu mode press the menu button and will take you back to play mode....

I can't say this method will work with your deck as you didn't list the model of your HU. But give it a try???

How do you turn off the demo mode on a JVC KD-G230, Car battery died and now it shows the time, pop, jazz, etc., as it is in demo mode and it is driving my crazy.

I held down the sel button until demo showed on the screen. Released the sel button. Turned the volume control to left or right until it said Demo Off then hit the select button again.

How do you set the clock on a jvc kd-g230 car radio

There is a misprint on manual concerning setting the clock. This is the case for similar JVC mobile head units.

The proper way to set the clock for this unit is:

1.)Hold down 'SEL' button count to 3 seconds
2.)Immediately after release of 'SEL' button hit the '>>|' button

This will allow you to enter 'PSM' menu. Every time you press '>>|' it will cycle between, 'CLOCK HOUR','CLOCK MINUTE', and 'Demo' Mode.

3.)Adjust settings by using the 'turn knob' and make sure 'Demo' mode is set to 'Demo Off' for the clock to stay set.

Hello jayme84,

To cancel "DEMO" mode on the JVC:

Enter the PSM (personal settings mode) and turn DEMO off.

1) Press and hold "SEL" until the display changes.
2) Use the left/right rocker switch until "DEMO ON" is displayed.
3) Turn the volume knob to select "DEMO OFF".
4) Press "SEL" to exit.

Hope this helps.

Stero stuck on demo mode, cant remember how to turn it off. it is a jvc kd-g240

You will find the demo mode in the settings menu. It's options will be on and off and are reset to default each time power is disconnected from the unit.

1st, hold the "SEL" button
2nd, use the left/right arrows to select option "Demo"
3rd, turn the volume knob until "OFF" is displayed
Then, lastly, press the "SEL" key once more.

Here is a link to the pdf document for the instruction manual off the JVC website:

JVC KD-G322 Demo mode

Hold down the "SEL" button, and use the CD track skip button to scroll to where the display says "DEMO," and use the volume knob to change the setting to "OFF." Push SEL again and you're good to go.
