ive tried to burn cds on windows media and also nero but the same happens. ive havn't added any thing new to my pc at all. the problem started about a week ago. when using windows media a says some thing like windows media as a problem and needs to shut down. when using nero a balloon comes up at the bottom of the screen but it shuts down to quickly for me to read it, the only bits i can remember are a file is currupt and run some thing called chkdsk/f i think thats what it said, thanks

Im going to need more info to assist you,

What software are you using to burn cd's?

How long has this been happening, and has anything changed since it started, ie new apps installed?

Do you get any error messages before this happens, or a Blue screen with white writing on it?

Has any of the hardware been changed before this strated happening?

Ok, basically nero is asking you to run chkdsk to see if there is any corruption in your system files and is generally a good fix for things like this.

If you don't know how to run chkdsk, follow the steps below.

Click Start -> Run

In the box type cmd, then press enter

At the commad prompt type cd \, then press enter

Then type chkdsk /f

If you are prompted to schedule CHKDSK to run the next time the computer restarts (because CHKDSK may be unable to gain exclusive access to the drive under Windows), type Y then enter

Type exit

If you have had to schedule the chkdsk ro run, restart your PC and chkdsk will run whilst your PC is starting up.

Please let me know if this fixes the issue.

Ok, another possible soloution would be to use System Restore to return the system to how it was before this error occured.

Whilst you will not lose any new e-mails, documents etc, any new applications that you have installed would be removed.

    So to do this :

Click Start -> Programmes -> Accesories -> System Tools -> System Restore

Select the 'Restore my computer to an earlier time' option.

Select a date (only those in bold are selecatble) from before this error occured.

Select next and follow the remaining instructions.

Youir PC will restart after the restore and you will see a box that will tell you the outcome of the restore.

After all this, please try burning again anbd let me know how you get on!

Do you have any anti-virus or anti-spyware software running ao this machnie, if so has it flagged anything recently?

  • Simon Vann
    Simon Vann Jun 21, 2008

well I just wondered because the files refered to in the error can be related to anti-spyware. However in your case I dont think they are.

The only other thing that the error relates to is Doctor Watson. This is the error reporting tool that has been present in windows since it was first released, way back in 1985. This is a know error and it has been removed in Vista.

However, you can disable this in XP, which disabels the file dwwin-exe from being used, and hopefully cure this fault.

Click Start, click Run, type regedit.exe in the Open box, and then click OK.

Locate and click the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AeDebugNOTE: Steps three and four are optional, but they necessary if you want to restore the default use of Dr. Watson.

Click the AeDebug key, and then click Export Registry File on the Registry menu.

Enter a name and location for the saved registry file, and then click Save.

    Delete the AeDebug key.

This information can be found at

If export isnt there when you right click on AeDebug then highlight it and select export from the file menu.

a STOP 0oxoooooo7E error is related to a corrupt driver, and in your case sysaudio.sys tells us that it is your sound card.

When re-booting your system, keep tapping the F8 Key, to start up in safe mode. You should be able log on here ok, but logon with an account that had administrator privlages

Select YES from the pop-up box tbhat appears.

Right click on My Computer and select properties.

    Select the device manager tab

Locate and expand the Sound, Video and Game Controllers section.

There will be several listings here but you need to select your sound card. Right click on this and select Uninstall

Reboot your PC in normal mode to re-install the drivers.

Let me know if this helps

yes i do, what things do you require??

  • Simon Vann
    Simon Vann Jun 23, 2008

The problem you describe is related to a programm called mywebsearch, which can be removed in the control panel, add remove programs. this should sort that out.

  • Simon Vann
    Simon Vann Jun 23, 2008

If theres no mwebsearch there then im afraid its a virus.

Ok, do the following step and get rid of it.

Open Run , type regedit and press enter

    Go to

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon

and check for the key Shell, the value of this must be Explorer.exe .
if you can see some other after that like Explorer.exe
C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\2.bin... , then remove the second file from
the value, means it must only Explorer.exe

Ok, then check for the key Userinit. the value must be
C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe, (including the comma) . If after that
some thing is there , then delete it.

Ok thats all. restart your system .

On my desk top computer that I bought at yard sale I don't know the administrator password. It has Windows XP professional.

Unless the previous owner had a particular security issue and changed it, the default password is the same. i.e. Administrator or Admin. Try these without the capitals if they don't work. Failing that, there are numerous XP password resetters that you can download. These are usually an ISO file which you burn to a CD. You then boot from this cd which usually runs a Linux based shell that will interrogate the password list. They will allow you to zero or clear all passwords on the system. The other alternative is easy if you have the XP install disk. Just reinstall the whole thing. Just a point though. Does a prompt come up as soon as you start the system probably in a blue box? If so this is a bios prompt and requires a different approach.

My dell inspiron 5620 wont go further a black error recovery screen

Shut down, unplug, remove battery, plug in, reboot, Try a system restore/recovery. If that fails, place a repair desk in the DVD/CD rom and reboot from DVD/CD rom, try a repair my computer first. Your MBR is missing or your HDD needs replacing. Is the HDD LED blinking at start of machine? Open the machine and reseat the HDD and memory mods. If that fails, remove HDD and test, replace if necessary. You didn't mention your OS? Windows XP? This may help:

Xp wont turned on it will not boot to the desk top it frezers

This should fix your problem. Even w/o your installation disk. I have used this program to fix Pc's I have picked up off the side of the road. I would hit the power button, it would show the BIOS then it would stop and shutdown. This fixed 99% of them I have picked up.

Go here

using a torrent program ie (utorrent, shareaza, etc) download SPINRITE.exe.

Burn this on a disk, the program is written with freedos included, but this will not work with 100% of laptops.

if the program stops and shows you a red screen with an error, use a program such as PowerISO to burn the disk and make it a bootable image by adding a .bif
after burning the program to disk-
  • insert disk and reboot
  • press any key to boot from cd if asked
  • when you see Prompt, change to your default cd drive.
  • type SPINRITE to start program
  • use recovery option 5
this may take a few hours or a few days depending on the condition of the HDD.
I have used this program to fix computers I've picked up on the side of the road. I would power it on, start to load then go into a loop. after running this program overnight I was able to reboot (after removing disk) and the pc started right up.

Make sure you run a program like Ccleaner (you can get at to clean your registry2.gif and junk files after completion. ^_^
