Why doesn't my LCD screen see things!!!

ok so im in the kitchen and the Lumix is round my neck
ive just finished taking a couple of pics and have gone for a drink
by accident i spil a tiny tiny bit of drink [some small debris from my mouth] on my Lumix.
I thought it was broken but i leave it a few minutes, have a knap theni take out the memory card and its on again.
now i go to clean the lense and the whole screen becomes black. i cant take pics. its just black. i can take a pic and use all the functions but when i go to shoot the picture dosnt show and just comes out black.
i dont understand because i can see the pics ive taken before.

solve me. =]
