Question about Ricoh Aficio 1035 Copier

Problem with aficio 1035

I bought aficio 1035 second hand. my problem is, the machine keep asking me to load toner eventhough the toner is full.it seems to load toner but at the end it keep asking me to load new toner cartridges. is it possible the problem came from the developer tank ???help me

Was it making clear copies before the add toner message? Did you just install a new cart? if so, pull out the toner hopper, remove the toner cart and look into the hopper itsself and make sure the cap from the old toner cart can be still stuck in place.

The developer should probably be changed in it. the cartridge should be inspected as well. Was there any toner spills?

Used toner bottle is full


I'm going to assume you typed the model wrong, and that it is a 1035 like the header states. If this is the case, the used toner on these is inside the transfer belt unit.
Open the duplex unit if equipped, then open up the right-side door. Attached to the door is the transfer belt unit, as see below:
602d8058-7b67-4449-895f-e01b266fd371.jpgLift the lever as shown, then lift unit out of machine. There is a panel with 6 screws near the bottom of the unit, remove all 6 screws and remove the cover. Be very careful, this thing is going to be FULL of used toner, and will make one HUGE mess if not disposed of properly. Once emptied, put cover back on, re-install unit, close doors, and you should be good to go.

My alficio 1035 is having a paper jam on the drum area and immediately report error SC395 this problem started after a toner hooper change. the second problem is that it is losing toner and som is falling...


SC 395 Development output abnorma.
Remove the development unit and clean the gears.If necessary change the developer.Remove the OPC imaging unit and clean the cleaning blade.

RICOH AFICIO 1035 I GET AN ERROR CODE SC326 AND PAPER KEEPS GETING JAMED WHERE IT TRIES TO ENTER THE BIG GREEN ROLLER.


SC326 is a laser synch detect error. The jamming is probably just because of the code popping up and the machine shutting down. 9 times out of 10 the cause of an SC326 is toner dust buildup on the laser optics. It is either that or possibly a laser unit (LD Unit) failure. The power to the LD unit flows thru the front door switches and I have seen those go bad and cut or reduce power to the LD unit which will cause the same code. I would get a Ricoh tech out to clean the laser optics. This is especially true if you open the fron door and there is toner dusting around the toner cartridge/DV unit area.

My Ricoh CL7000 keeps asking to replace the yellow toner, which I have done and it goes through the motions of loading the toner then the error message comes back again - asking to replace the yellow...


The toner cartridges for the CL7000 have microchips embedded in them, so the machine knows if it's not a new cartridge. Was the cartridge you put in brand new? (And was it a genuine Ricoh cartridge?)

On those printers, the toner is pumped into a developer system and mixed with the developer before making the image. In the developer unit, the density is checked, so if it's not seeing the right mix there, one of three common problems could be causing this.

The more likely solution is to replace the yellow developer unit, which comes as a whole unit and just slides right in. That will reset your density levels and should correct the "load toner" error.

There is a spring and cushion mechanism that the toner cartridge sits on -- this mechanism can easily be popped out of place and cause problems loading the toner. Take out the yellow toner as well as one of the other colors, and see if the little black circular piece is sitting the same way for both colors. If not, just pop it back into place, using the second color as a guide.

The other likely possibility is that the yellow toner supply tube is clogged, but that doesn't happen very often. To test if it's clogged, take out the yellow toner cartridge and the yellow developer unit and turn the copier off. Use a vacuum to provide suction at one end of the tube (the toner end will be easier) and put your finger on the other end (the developer end) and see if you feel the vacuum's suction. If not, there is probably a clog somewhere in the line.

If there is no clog and you can feel the suction, you may have a bad toner supply motor.

As a side note, if you find the problem and fix it, you might still have to put a new yellow toner cartridge in to get the machine running because it will think the cartridge you already tried is empty.

Yes, the code is caused by toner getting into the laser unit. The laser unit likely only needs to be cleaned out. To do so, turn the machine of with the red rocker switch on left side of the machine. You will need to remove the front cover and the brown cover behind it. The mechanical counter is plugged into the brown cover so be careful not to damage the wires. The laser unit is the black plastic case you will see behind the brown cover. Be sure to remove the necessary screws and connectors. Be extra careful of the ribbon cable, it kinks easily and the contacts are easily damaged. The Laser unit will slide out, and you can remove the screws holding the top cover on. After removal, clean the interior of the case and mirrors. Do not use any liquid to clean it, preferrabley canned air and a lint free cloth. After cleaning, reassemble, turn the machine back on, and test.

Not sure what SC818 is as not in my manuals please try the following.

Entering and Exiting SP mode
1. Press the Clear Mode key.
2. Use the keypad to enter “107”.
3. Hold down Clear/Stop for at least 3 seconds.
4. Enter the Service Mode.
To enter the Normal Service Mode:
Copy SP On the touch-panel, press Copy SP.


Once in the service mode turn the main switch off located on the left hand side of the machine wait 5-10 seconds then switch back on. This should get the machine working. Hope this helps
