Do you see a BIOS screen before the PC loads Windows?

Power off and complete a cold boot from switch. If you still can't see the BIOS screen then check that you have plugged the cable into the right socket. Some PC's have on-board outputs and when a High End Graphic card is installed these are disabled by default. Look at the pins in the VGA plug for bent pins.

If you see the BIOS and then lose screen then the refesh rate or screen resolution is incorrect. We Windows Logo shows press the F8 key at the top of the keyboard to enter safe mode and then change the screen settings down to say 800x600 or 1024x768 to start with. Also make sure that the screen refresh is in 60 hz to start with at these resolutions.

My hp lcd monitor screen is accidently suffered a pin hole. how to plug this pin hole to make screen normal and prevent white light from escaping from screen and read words on that part of screen which get...

LCD is Short for liquid crystal display, a type of display used in digital watches and many portable computers. LCD displays utilize two sheets of polarizing material with a liquid crystal solution between them. An electric current passed through the liquid causes the crystals to align so that light cannot pass through them. Each crystal, therefore, is like a shutter, either allowing light to pass through or blocking the light.

If you have a "hole" in it then you will most likely have to replace the display.

Can i get an adapter for my emachine monitor to go into a dell desktop ...my lead i have now doesnt fit as unable to screw it in

YES.

I believe it is time now for the guessing game............

1) Is the monitor about so high, and so wide?

2) Does the monitor look like a small TV, or is it flat in appearance?

3) What does the monitor cable look like?

4) Is your hair Brown, and do you smoke cigarettes?

NO.............just wanted to see if you were following along! Geez!

An Analog monitor, such as a CRT type of monitor, uses a VGA cable,

http://www.wisegeek.org/what-is-a-crt-monitor.htm

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_Connector

Scroll down a little for a VGA Cable example.

Flat LCD screen monitors are Digital.
Some may have a VGA Cable attached, but the best cable option is a DVI cable,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

(Click on any photo on those two Wikipedia pages, to enlarge)

Using these two examples, does one apply to the eMachines, and one apply to the monitor?

Let us say the monitor has a DVI cable.
The eMachines Desktop PC has a VGA port. (Connector)
For this you would simply use a DVI to VGA adapter,

http://www.directron.com/dviadapter.html

Now notice...........this is a VGA MALE to DVI FEMALE.

The DVI cable on the flat LCD screen monitor, has a male connector.
The contact pins of it go into socket holes, in the DVI end, of the DVI to VGA adapter.

The VGA port on the eMachines, has socket holes.
The male VGA connector end on the DVI to VGA adapter, has contact pins.

Point?

Make sure you get the correct DVI to VGA adapter.
There is a male DVI to female VGA adapter, also.

This is just one example.
For instance I'm using an HP 2009M 20-inch widescreen monitor, AND an RCA 26-inch HDTV, as dual monitors.

Presently using the HP 2009M with a DVI cable, and the RCA L26HD31 HDTV with a VGA cable.

(I'm also using an ATI Radeon HD5450 graphics card. Pretty 'pud', but it does OK for what I want)

Primer;
A computer sends out a digital signal. To get the best graphics quality, you ideally use a monitor with a digital cable. (DVI, etc)

When you use an Analog monitor on a computer, the computer has to change the digital signal down to an Analog one.
Therefore the graphics quality is not as great.

Digital cable technology now, is DVI, HDMI, Display Port, and Mini-Display Port. And some others I'm sure I've forgotten.

http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Video-Connectors-Tutorial/157

For additional questions please post in a Comment.

Also post what the monitor manufacturer name, and model number is. (Look on the back)

Are you using the VGA connector on the motherboard, (Back of computer), or do you have a graphics card installed?

If you have a graphics card installed, what is the manufacturer name, and model number?

Missing adapter or plug in connection to 15 balance mointor model 2015

The Balance CM2015 monitor uses a VGA connector,

http://www.ebay.com/ctg/Balance-CM2015-15-LCD-Monitor-Black-/52125929

(The above is for reference only. Not advertising)

A VGA connector is also referred to as a 15-pin D-Sub connector,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

This is information on a DVI cable, and DVI connector,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

If this is the monitor cable you have, you need this type of adapter,

http://www.directron.com/dviadapter.html

Now LOOK closely.
This adapter has male pins that stick out, and go into a female VGA connector on the monitor. The DVI side of this adapter has socket holes, for a male DVI cable.

IF, your monitor has a male VGA connector on it, and the DVI cable you have has socket holes, you need this adapter,

http://www.directron.com/dvitovga.html

If your monitor cable is not a DVI cable, post back with the style it is.
If nothing else post how many pins are in the connector on the cable, and how they are arranged.

For additional questions please post in a Comment.

Dvd/cd will not eject,,,, what is the solution?????

First , you need to locate the small circle hole on your dvd then
use a pin (make sure that the pin that you're going to use will match going to the small hole located on the dvd )
Second insert pin inside the small hole and once the tip of the pin reaches the end inside the hole pull the pin and then after pulling the pin automatically the dvd drive will eject/open

You don't need to worry because it is 100 percent safe it doesnt matter if its the unit is off or switch on

Hi!i'm teng, would you trying to help me,about my lcd monitor i can't plug in to Vga receptacle into my PC desktop, can u help me how do i connect this defferent socket?.

Sure Teng, no problem!

I believe what you have is a DVI connection on your LCD monitor.

Looks like this,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

What you need is an adapter.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4475077&CatId=467

Make SURE you get the adapter that has the DVI socket holes, and the VGA pins!
They make an adapter that is the other way around.

[I bought one at Radio Shack a while back. $14.99 since I couldn't wait. Compare the price of the above one. Even with tax, and shipping it would be way cheaper. There are a Lot of online stores that sell these adapters]

Hpcompaq d330 ut has no in put singnal to LCD screen ? is this big trouble to fix as in cost a lot??

Let's check the obvious first...
Make sure monitor cables are attached correctly and securely.
Is the monitor receiving power/turned on?
Assuming monitor was working at some point and not damaged...

Start up PC in safe mode (press F5 key when you see Windows logo at startup). This will use a default VGA driver. If LCD works now, you may need to check for and replace the video driver for the monitor. Go to the manufacturer's website for the monitor. If LCD does not work, I suspect a hardware failure in the LCD monitor.

If this is a new, under warranty, you can take back to place of purchase for an exchange. Receipt may be required. If not under warranty, you may be looking at buying a new monitor. LCD have come down in price. My recommendation would be the Samsung SyncMaster. 15 inch size is cheapest. 17 inch have become very competitive. 19 inch and up can be expensive depending on brand. Watch for sales. Local club stores like Sam's or Costco sometimes have deals, too. Of course, their are online sources too like newegg.com.

Hi,how do I know wheather I need DVI or VGA cables to connect CPU to a Monitor.I sold monitor when I got laptop now I want set up the Dell Dimension 3100 as aback up,so I'm looking at wide sreen monitors...

Most of the Widescreen monitors come with DVI as well as VGA connector. A VGA connector and DVI connectors are different in many aspects. First of all the DVI connector would be white in color and VGA would be blue.
VGA connector has 15 pins and DVI has 24 +1 pin

Cannot open CD Rom for a LG monitor w2252TQ

If you mean the CD Rom will not open, there should be a tiny hole on the front of the drive. Stick a small pin in the hole, that should get the cd rom to open. Sounds like the belt on the drive may have broken.
